Likely we would have probably been paying at least £15k pw for Blackman (quite possibly a lot more) so we will have those lack of wages to offset the new keeper's wages - plus we will also have saved out because we wouldn't have been paying Blackman for the last few weeks either.

Think radz will take a risk tbh, stupid not too.

James deal is gathering pace, he will fit in perfectly
Re: January Transfer Rumours And Squad Discussion
Let's hope so then. I can't get too excited until the window shuts and he's still here.

He is a Leeds fan, we are top of the league, if he keeps up this form he is guaranteed a significant wage rise anyway.
He is probably achieving his dream playing at Elland Road.
Just hope thats enough to keep him wanting to stay.

Nice to see the folder on Marcelo's desktop titled "Daniel James - Swansea City", during his coaching masterclass this evening. It shows our interest and that Marcelo has done his preparatory work on him

Phil Hay saying we've rejected an enquiry (not a bid) from Crystal Palace for Jack Clarke. Good news, though I don't get why he'd go there anyway. They can still go down, we are challenging for promotion.

Being linked with Mehdi Abeid, Algerian box to box midfielder from Dijon. 3 goals from 16 games this season. Still think we need another CM.
Newcastle fans seem to really rate him as well.

Daily Mirror saying we rejected £3m for Jack Clarke from Palace.
Embarrassing they thought they'd get him for that.
Perhaps we should bid £5m for Zaha then.

Thought Dan James did well when he came on for Swansea, certainly more use for them then Harrison was for us today.
Prefer we were seeing what Brentford want for Benrahma or Canos or even Adam Armstrong at Blackburn.
But thought James did ok, certainly direct

He is an odd one, raved about him when he was there, apparently started well then got injured then never seen again.
Even now on twitter there are Newcastle fans saying how good he is, but his career is pretty average really although at a decent level.
One thing he does seem is versatile and from watching clips very good on the ball.
Plays dm, cm am and both wings.
We need that sort of versatility with a small squad.
May be something in this imo, we have had scouts in Dijon, the source is a well respected one and he wont cost much.

Still can't see any more coming in other than the keeper we've signed
We'll have to make do with some tired legs plus our crocks & just hope for the best

Re: January Transfer Rumours And Squad Discussion
Apparently we're looking for a no.10 on loan from the PL too.
I could see it being someone like Lucas Piazon, especially as he can play on the wings too.

A number 10 is key I'd say with only Hernandez available

Re: January Transfer Rumours And Squad Discussion
Paper talk today of Southampton offering 10m for Clarke.
Only worth selling if the money was spent to strengthen this week as that sort of cash would be chump change should we promote.

Re: January Transfer Rumours And Squad Discussion
The lads potential goes way beyond 10m thats for sure
He was instrumental in sending us on the way to 3points against Villa and that alone could be worth 10m if promoted by 2

Re: January Transfer Rumours And Squad Discussion
No excuse for selling Jack this window.
Not about the money.
Keeping him is a statement.
Much more important then the cash.
Keeping Jack is vital both on the pitch and off it.
On it for obvious reasons and off it because it sends a message to everyone that we can keep our best players
