I am still in shock, mainly because I am a fair person, and I have to actually listen to the bloody record to be able to dismiss it

5 Car Seat Headrest 'Twin Fantasy' 64
Probably the only points this brilliant album will receive :(

For anyone who enjoys bands such as the Strokes, Pavement, early Beck and the National, check this out.

Half way through it, I can hear Arcade Fire and Jarvis Cocker too.

Yes

'My Boy' is almost Beach Boy-ish

Will Toledo's voice sounds so much like the Strokes vocalist Julian Casablancas,

Even I quite like the album Ges, although I'm brainwashed when Leon keeps playing it in the car

Can't stand the Strokes so that comparison does nothing for me
BPF - Hossannah - Halme - Diaz - Struijk - Oduor - Gotts - Stevens - McCalmont - Temenuzhkov - Shackleton

"objective fan" - is that a consistent oxymoron?"

FOLK/SINGER/SONGWRITER/COUNTRY

Frst Aid Kit 'Ruins'
Jess Williamson 'Cosmic Wink'
Ex:Re 'Ex:Re'
Larkin Poe 'Venom and Faith'

Bit of a theme here.

Then ditto, another band I can happily ignore...
BPF - Hossannah - Halme - Diaz - Struijk - Oduor - Gotts - Stevens - McCalmont - Temenuzhkov - Shackleton

I like all those acts, but didn't like what I heard of Carseat Head Rest a few years back, but I'll give that album a try.
