1969-2019 PHIL MASINGA R.I.P

Phil Masinga has died after a long illness. He was just 49 years old.

He was admitted to hospital in his home town of Klerksdorp last month, before being moved to another site in Johannesburg where he lost his battle for life.

The former forward made 31 league appearances for Leeds, scoring five goals.

"It is with great sadness that the club has learnt of former striker Phil Masinga's passing," said a statement from the Elland Road club.

"The thoughts of everyone at LUFC are with his family and friends."

I think it was Masinga the scouts went to watch and they noticed Radebe.

Our scouts were sent to watch Masinga, and at the same time Radeve caught the eye.

If it wasn't for Masinga, we would not have got the Chief...

Decent player and superb in the air. Remember him heading against the post v Chelsea with a bullet header from the edge of the area, keeper, think it was Dmitri Kharine, never had a chance. Couldn't believe he generated such power from so far out. Seemed to be a bit unlucky with us not to score more goals.
