Birmingham City's draw with the Blades ensured that Leeds stay in second place, albeit by one point.

After the game Chris Wilder made a point not to even mention 'Leeds', referring to us as 'a team'.

Wilder told the Yorkshire Post: "You guys will talk about it, the fans will talk about it but I won’t. I will just talk about the accumulation of points. I can’t be a rollercoaster myself.

"There was one team who wanted to go and win it and get the three points. It’s a tough place to come, as a team found out on Saturday."

If we are 'a team', who would play the role of B. A. Baracus?




The bookies have the Whites marginally ahead in the race for promotion. Leeds are 4/11 to go up, which Chris Wilder's side are 1/2 - not much in it all all.




Highly rated Motherwell winger Motherwell winger Stuart McKinstry has completed his medical at Thorp Arch.

A fee of £400,00 was agreed between the two clubs for the 16yo.




Assuming we and Norwich go up, which other club would you LIKE to see go up to the Prem?

Think Wilder is feeling the pressure now and that transmits to the players. When you start talking about the rivals as 'a team' there is a sense of him wanting to talk about Leeds in a derogatory way but he knows he can't slag them off in public . MB knows how to handle this .

Great results last night. Norwich still have stoke and Villa away so 2 losses would bring them back in the mix although very unlikely.
Wilder is feeling the heat! He knows they slipped up and were lucky to get 4 points from the past 2 games. Could have been 1 or even 0.

Once again, last night's results show how, with five games left, it's impossible to predict who will go up. Philips and Bamford have both spoken this week about keeping an even head, and focussing each game on playing our style.

Marcelo's experience here may prove to be our crucial advantage, and it may be why he is so 'stubborn' about making changes to the side. Perhaps he sees that the current first team players are the most practiced in our style, and that their confidence in it gives us a mental advantage.

Maybe it isn't blind loyalty to players that motivates him, but his belief in his methods and the belief and confidence that instills in the players.

Someone like Brown or Shackleton may appear to have more to offer than Harrison, for example, but will not be as mentally battle hardened to cope with the pressure. It's always fine margins, and I'm sure Marcelo is using every little advantage he thinks we can gain. At this stage, that may be more about being mentally prepared.

Assuming that we and Norwich go up, I would prefer the third team not to be the Blunts, Villa, Derby, Bristol or Boro. Wednesday beating the Blunts in the final would be classic; I have quite a few Wednesday supporting friends, and they are the real Sheffield team for me. Other than that, don't mind the Baggies or Preston.

I've never been a fan of the playoffs as it's totally unfair to 3rd place if they don't go up. If finishing 3rd after 46 games doesn't prove they are better than those below then nothing does.
I understand that MB may think that his regular 11 will be battle hardened but there are times when his substitutions beggars belief when a change of player type and tactics were obviously needed to surprise the opposition and give them something different to think about. Mentally he will have them ready it's just whether they can see this through.

Was it Charlton we played at St Andrews in '87 ? I was there , 1-0 up and lost 2-1 maybe ? Memory is fading. What a season, cup semi at Hillsborough as well.

Was thinking about the Reading Goal last night. Norwich got 5 points from 6 games at the start of the season
Bad result last night against a side fighting relegation.
Sunday they have to do it again and away this time.

Is it possible they may slip up? and against Stoke and Villa away?

Thing is I think 2 wins at home to Blackburn and Wednesday will do it for them.

There winning run has stopped and who knows. Could they blow it?

It was Charlton BG. I remember listening to it on the radio.
I was so gutted when we lost I could barely speak.
Wasn't it defender Peter Shirtliff who got both goals? His first for a bout 5 years or something ridiculous like that.
Could only happen to us.

An interesting point made by the commentators last night was that Wilder only lasted 5 minutes before checking the Leeds score on his phone on Tuesday but Bielsa said he had no intention of checking the Sheff Utd score but would hear the result at the end of the game.
So who's feeling the pressure more?

I didn't realise that Toby Nye's mums Court case had been concluded.

Stacey Worsley was given a two-year suspended sentence at Leeds Crown Court. The 32-year-old nurse, of Osmondthorpe, lost £140,000 on gambling websites between January 2, 2017, and March 30, 2018.

Earlier this month, she pleaded guilty to fraud by abuse of position on the basis that £100,000 of that money was taken from the fund for Toby's potentially life-saving neuroblastoma treatment. Six-year-old Toby did receive the treatment, which was paid for by Leeds United FC's ring-fenced fund, but

Judge Guy Kearl QC, the Recorder of Leeds, accepted that Worsley's actions were 'out of character' and she had endured 'difficult and testing times'.

He said: "This was any parent’s worst nightmare.

"During Toby’s illness, you became isolated from your family, unable to see them for long periods of time due to Toby being in isolation.

"You were under enormous pressures and I have no doubt that all of this started as a result of you wanting to raise money for his treatment."

He added: "The money was not taken and spent on any form of luxury for you or anyone else and I accept that you started to gamble in a desperate attempt to raise money so that your child could receive treatment.

"You failed in that. . . and you started to chase your losses."
