Leeds v Birmingham Preview

Post by YorkshireSquare »

Leeds United remain top of the Championship table and the only remaining unbeaten team coming into this weekends clash with Birmingham City. The last team with all their chips on the table in the [http://https://lvbet.com/en/casino/]online casino[/url] of the Championship. Birmingham on the other hand, managed by ex-Leeds manager Garry Monk, find themselves towards the bottom of the table having not won a match all season. Monks first return to Elland Road after leaving Leeds didn’t go too well when his Middlesbrough team were beaten two one last season.

Leeds injury list is like a Book of Dead with Pablo Hernandez (hamstring), Gaetano Berardi (knee), Kemar Roofe (calf) and Patrick Bamford (knee) all still out. But Pontus Jansson, Jack Harrison and Tyler Roberts have all impressed in recent games and Marcelo Bielsa is likely to name an unchanged team. Striker Tyler Roberts making the headlines with his brace of goals, proving he his ready to step up and fill the hole left by the injuries to his fellow strikers.

Middlesbrough will hope to have a couple of players back from injury. Midfielder Maikel Kieftenbeld missed the midweek game against Sheffield United and Craig Gardner has missed the last couple of matches. But Monk could opt to keep faith with youngster Charlie Lakin, who made his senior debut for the club in midweek.

Bielsa’s team are looking to remain unbeaten in their first nine games of a league campaign for the first time since the 2009-10 League One season whilst Birmingham have won only one of their last 23 Saturday away matches in all competitions. Honours were shared last season with Birmingham winning one nil at St Andrews and Leeds winning two nil with goals from Saiz and Dallas in the corresponding fixture at Elland Road.

Leeds are odds on favourites with the bookies at 5/6 for the win, with Birmingham at 9/2.
