Cooper & Jansson nominated for September PFA Player of the Month Award

Post by YorkshireSquare »

September may have been a tough month for Marcelo Bielsa's side with the first league defeat of the season coming against Birmingham and only one victory but Liam Cooper & Pontus Jansson have been nominated for Septembers PFA Bristol Street Motors Player of the Month Award. The PFA award is voted for by fans and you can have your say on the winner by voting below.

Jansson started this season on the bench having returned from a post World-Cup holiday a week before the campaign began and he sat out of United’s league fixtures until Gaetano Berardi was injured in a the draw with Middlesbrough at the end of August. His influence has been keenly felt since then, Leeds have remained title and Jansson's form in September has been a big reason for that. Finding fitness, he’s back in the side and looking as determined as ever to get the Whites back into the Premier League under Marcelo Bielsa.

Another player that has improved under Bielsa, Liam Cooper led by example last month for the Whites. Part of a defence that is proving tough to beat this year, the Whites’ skipper has really grown considerably in the role this season. Leeds fans may still be surprised by Coopers inclusion in the vote though as he is still prone to the odd error and his mistake on Saturday against Brentford will still be fresh in the memory.

The voting deadline is 8am on Wednesday 10th October so get your vote in now...
