Ahh, ok. We used to go in the East family bit when we were in Prem, but moved to the NW corner when bates decided to increase prices.

Great news about Byram. Hope he can finally get his season going, and helping us win matches. We are a better side with him in the line-up.

On the way back to brum courtesy of the 18.11 train to Plymouth so will do a full match report later but just to say that I am
Over the moon at the win today.

First half we bossed and deserved our lead but strangely we seem to be more affected by Boro going down to ten men than they did !!

My MOTM was Zaliukas, really liked look of him, nipped in with so many interceptions.
Follows closely by Pearce, who is fast becoming a Terry Butcher like warrior.

3 wins on the bounce and up to 6th :-) MOT !!

Gurj: Looking forward to your full match report.

Really enjoying the new Jason Pearce this season. Much maligned, and sometimes deservedly so, but great to see him find a style of play that suits him and the club.

Goals from today HERE!

Have to ask again - Kenny..wtf? :duno: Ok, defender lost his man, but ball right at him. All he had to do was MOVE? :duno:
Pelts was getting some stick from Eddie on the comm, but that cross in for Pearce's goal was brilliant - (as was the goal)!
As to Rosco - not seen him score many with his noggin, but that was well taken.

Thank`s Twiggster for your post i haven`t saw the goals yet. A good result today and brianMc says that there`s more to come from his team and that`s encouraging.
What a confidence boost another win can make aswell .In my opinion looking at top half of league now with probably the trotter`s in a false position i can see the mover`s all there and looking at them 6-7 places so to speak and we need to be sure of being in one of them.

First of all, have to say it was a great atmosphere today, I sat in L31 in East stand lower just on the half line and the view was superb.Good to see a good away following wich always helps.
Lovely tribute to Gary Speed, god rest he's soul, before the game and in 11th minute.

On to the match itself, and it was good to see us make a fast start for a change and the tempo was just how it should be when we are at home. Ross's movement in first half was causing them all kinds of trouble at the back and it was such a shame that he missed a sitter, should have buried a header. Then it was Blackstock's turn to miss a great chance. Ross then went down in the box but not sure if it was a dive or not ?

At other end Paddy was having a few routine shots to mop up and though there were a couple of last ditch clearances from Lees and Pearce, we were generally comfortable.

Then came the goal and Ross was basically, as a good striker should be, was in the right place at the right time to head home.

Then from what was only a speculative pump up the field the Boro defence got into all sorts of trouble and their keeper came out and was sent off for a challenge on Dexter just outside the box. He had to go and the Ref, in an otherwise poor game for him, got it right !

The second half was a strange affair, Boro actually became the better team, and it wasn't too much of a shock when they got their equaliser.

Thankfully we mustered just enough momentum to get what proved to the winner thanks to some great work by the much maligned Peltier with the colossus that is Pearce heading home.

After that we just seemed to think the game was won or we would just hold what we had !
At times it looked like Boro had 11 men and we had 10 rather than other way round !
So what should have been a comfortable last 20 mins ended up being very nerve racking at times but to be fair Paddy only really had one decent shot to save and so the game was won and 4 wins in a row could be celebrated :-)

My marks out of ten :-

Kenny - Did all he needed to adequately and could not possibly be blamed for their goal. 7/10
Peltier - Again a steady if not spectacular performance defensively, set up 2nd goal well. 7/10
Pugh - Performed very well, fair play to him for grabbing hes chance /deserves to stay at LB. 8/10
Lees - Still looks too prone to dropping a clanger or two but 1 vital clearance. 6/10
Pearce - Had heard he has been our best defender this season and I saw conclusive proof of that today. Immense 8.5/10
Zalunikas - Great full debut !! Was intercepting balls to Boro frontmen on a regular basis. Looks the real deal. 9/10
Mowatt - You can see the boy has class, sometimes tries to do a bit too much, tired in 2nd half. 7/10
Murphy - neat and tidy without being influential. Need more. 6/10
Austin - Typical Rudy display, battling, power, drive, some good shots mixed with some poor passing. 7/10
Ross - Movement was first class in first half and that alone meant he deserved goal. Too isolated in 2nd half. 7/10
Blackstock - Missed a sitter and that seemed to affect him although he's persistence got their keeper sent off. Faded badly in 2nd Half. 6/10

Subs not really involved enough to warrant a mark.
