Good result and it's getting rosier by the week for LUFC....

Just back to hear Wood knock in the penalty :-D

Changed my prediction from 1-1 to 1-0, last minute goal spoils it

Get in, another three points :-D

The Duke gets the penalty and then scores a second
Can you give MOTM to someone who was only on the
pitch for such a short time?

He certainly was a game changer and revitalised.
Sacko runs the length of the pitch to congratulate
the man who replaced him... now that is team spirit.

We are becoming formidable.

It seems years since there was such optimism in the camp and on here.
Just to have had these positives from this last week or few is truly uplifting.
Long may it continue. If the Duke keeps this up he could solve some of our attack deficiencies.

I thought Duke replaced Roofe?

Referee is having a shocker. Whistle happy... soon it will be the cards.
How prophetic - what the hell was this next bit about?
90'+7' Souleymane Doukara (Leeds United) is shown the yellow card for excessive celebration.
- we're finally gelling as a team with all members encouraging their team mates as best they can and the Sodding ref. wants to be a killjoy.

I really rated Alex when he first arrived on the scene, he then went on to have very good season in 2014/15.
After saying that I never thought Mowatt would make it to premiership level as he is far too slow . Now he seems to have lost all his energy levels which is a major concern because if a professional footballer can't sustain ninety minutes he has a serious problem making it at even championship level.
Read something about Alex which i refuse to print but if true would make sense why he is so laboured & lethargic !

As for Grimes he probably needs more time although he should of shown much better bearing in mind the level he has played at, Monk obviously rates him so lets hope he steps up a grade in time
Not saying he hasn't been poor but what we have is a player that burst onto the scene as a youngster but since then has had 5 or 6 different managers within a very short space of time and as such has been in and out of the team and played in various different positions. Probably not a coincidence that the only time he has played well within the last couple of years was when Redfearn was manager and knew how to get the best out of him.

Yes & our last three so-called better managers have struggled to get the best out of Mowatt. Evans & Monk have improved other players so i reckon there is a deep-rooted problem with Alex. Perhaps a spell on loan to a League One club maybe the answer, if he can't hack it at that level we'll soon realise he is not good enough for Leeds. Bridcutt, Hernandez, O'Kane, Phillips & Vieira & Dallas are way ahead of him in the pecking order right now & he probably knows they are which won't help his confidence one jot !

For me Mowatt is not necessarily going to improve a lot. I want to be proved otherwise but find Alex to one dimensional and is easy for other teams to see his game. Clever left peg yeah but his pace and finishing isn't up to it . Last year neither he nor Lewis cook came on at all.

Gritty win at home, with the added bonus of a clean sheet. Jansson/Bartley not great, but battled hard, and won the day. Monk got it right on the nuts with Doukara. His game is really starting to shine with his ability to be in the right places at the right time. His break away goal was just pure determination and guts. Douks, MoTM.

Okay, couldn't see the video which probably showed that. I accept your reasoning but the ref could have given him a stern warning and showed a bit of understanding. Ah well, it's done so it's what it is.

Will upload my VLOG tomorrow and I haven't got my camera atm  so I can't upload it until tomorrow.
Anyway today was an entertaining match both teams played good football.
Burton were probably the better team in the first half and were playing for the 3 points. We didn't really create anything in the first half that I can remember.
Second half, was much much better Burton still played well, however, we really did raise our game some of the football we were playing in the second half was incredible and the work for the 2nd goal was fantastic. Overall, we probably didn't deserve the win today, a draw would have been a fair result. However, it shows how much better the league is in terms of quality this season that Burton who have impressed me every time I have watched them this season are only 18th in the table.
Garry is doing a brilliant job one point outside the top 6 and a cup quarter final this season has been very enjoyable so far :-D.
Player Ratings
Green 6- Wasn't tested often.
Ayling 8- Is really starting to impress me he is improving every game.
Bartley 7- Another good game.
Pontus 7- Best centre back in the league in my opinion.
Taylor 7- Defended well and did really well going forward today.
Phillips 6- One or two good passes not at his best today.
O'Kane 5- His pass completion must have been less than 50%, by Eunan's high standards a very disappointing game.
Sacko 5- Made too many poor decisions.
Hernandez 7- It makes a huge difference having Pablo in the team the way he dribbles past players so easily is incredible.
Roofe 5- One or two good moments missed a great chance at 0-0
Wood 9- Man Of The Match, Won every header, Played some great passes, took his one chance in the game, worked unbelievably hard again and his pass for the second goal was unbelievable. He has reached double figures already and it's not even November yet.
At one point with his back to goal and 4 Burton players around him he flicked the ball up did a keepy uppy to get past 2 defenders and set up a perfect volley for Pablo with a back heel/outside of the foot flick all in the same move, it was incredible to watch :shirt. £3 million for Chris Wood? absolute bargain.
Substitutions:
Doukara 8- Had a brilliant impact on the game and deserved his goal.
Viera and Mowatt only played a few minutes.
We March On :scarf2:
