I'm with 60s; wins against Brentford and Larry's lot (Beckford will score a stunning 25 yd o.g for us!!), draws with Reading and Geordies

Reading (a) W
Brentford (a) W
Preston (h) W
Newcastle (a) D

I don't see that any of these matches are unwinnable. Need to win all four to keep any hope of automatic. More worried about Monk being able to keep our form positive heading into the playoffs.

Ironically Dan I can see the Brentford/Preston games being more difficult than Reading/Newcastle

Reading (a)
Jaap Stam and his tippy tappy toed football... LOOSERS: 3 POINTS
Brentford (a)
Who even knows where Brentford is... LOOSERS: 3 POINTS
Preston (h)
Living in the past, they will loose so bad... like Grayson is loosing his hair... LOOSERS: 3 POINTS
Newcastle (a)
Worst team in the league... what can you expect with a Spaniard in charge.
I've kept really quiet but I'll tell you something, he went down in my estimations
when he said that. You can tell him now, we're still fighting for this title ... and I'll
tell you, honestly, I will love it if we beat them. Love it. Love it. Love it. LOOSERS: 3 POINTS

Not a good start for the majority of in this batch of four games

Only nine points available now

The picture should be much clearer after the Brentford game

Geordies will be a dangerous animal now that they are second . Benitez will be after the win for sure and I hope it plays into our hands. A point for me would be ok but I want to win but we are going to be up against it .

The last match against Wigan is a conundrum because it depends how they do against an unbelievably difficult four games -

Brighton Away
Cardiff Home
Reading Away
Leeds Home

Brighton wanting auto-promo,
Reading and us wanting Play-offs
Cardiff no pressure at all/nothing to play for

So,
Wolves H- narrow win
Burton A draw
Norwich H - draw
Wigan A - narrow win

8 points which, if we don't get, we're not ready.

After a series of almost meaningless end-of-season matches in recent years what a bonus it is for fans of LUFC that we are well in the playoff mix with these potentially exciting matches to come, all games winnable but draws & losses just as possible.

I'm expecting that every game will have something riding on it as it seems that this season will require an above average number of points to secure 6th place or higher. Is it on track to be a record high?

Notwithstanding the variability in the level of football produced recently our team has consistently demonstrated its resilience, resolve and effectiveness at getting results.
I have every confidence that the lads will continue to apply themselves with the best of intentions, which is all that I ask for.

Hopefully our home and away crowds can hold the collective nerve over the remaining games and provide the right kind of support needed to be that vital 12th player on the team.

Cheers,

Wolves is a massive game, 3 points and we should do it, if not and the 2 below win, then the pressure is turned up and then anything can happen. Normally I would be looking for 12 points from these 4 games but I'm expecting 8. The last minute goal on Friday should give the players a boost and should put an extra spring in their step for tomorrow.
