Green - 9
Ayling - 6
Jansson 10 MOTM
Bartley - 9
those two CB's just form the perfect defensive partnership
Beradi - 7
Bridcutt - 6 (faded after a good start)
Philips - 7
Roofe - 9 (Kept trying all night and a sublime ball of the highest quality unlocked the door)
Hernandez - 7, (good start, got kicked in the head and went quiet before adding some very late urgency)
Pedraza - 7 - (Hit the crossbar and should not have come off)
Wood - 8 Quiet all night but a quality touch finish to salvage a long lost point
Doukara - 5 - just well off the pace
Sacko - 5 - Did nothing with his possession
Taylor 6 - Same as Sacko but not on as long
Ayling - 6
Jansson 10 MOTM
Bartley - 9

That's right billie we have this hard to break down and all for one ,one for All attitude that Garry Monk must have take all the platitudes for . Even second best all over tonight we ran ,shackled , battled to salvage our position and by the way show everyone that ..We are Leeds and never defeated .

Interesting fact came out about GM method of delivering the HT talk.
Apparently he writes three things down that he wants the team to improve
on and gives the list to the players to discuss and come up with a plan on
how to deal the the points that GM has made.
So the solution comes from players themselves rather than listening to
an inspirational talk from the manager.

We where absolutely slaughtered 2nd half.
The toons squad is nowhere near good enough for the P/L
We'd struggle to get into double figures points wise if we win the playoffs.
Say what you want ,but that was a reality check .
Where effing light years away,

Re: Newcastle v Leeds - Team/News/Reports/Ratings
Welcome and agree in general but the defence is probably better than most of the bottom 7/8 sides in the prem and we'd need to buy a whole new midfield obviously. The Prem really isn't that strong outside of the big guns...Sunderland and Middlesborough would probably be toward the bottom of the championship, they've been rank all season I hear

Re: Newcastle v Leeds - Team/News/Reports/Ratings
Green 9 - Excellent saves. Sky questioning whether he could have come for the cross which led to the goal but in my opinion if he'd have come the ball would have been too high and the attacker would have simply been left with a free header into an open goal.
Ayling 6 - Very suspect tonight and lucky not to have given a penalty away. Did start brightly and kept trying to get forward.
Berardi 7 - Got caught out a couple of times but you don't fool him twice and had his usual assured game for the rest of the game.
Bartley & Jannson 9 - Consistently getting their feet, bodies or heads in the way and the Bartley/Jannson partnership was back to its best.
Bridcutt 7 - Showed why he was back in the team as he consistently got himself into the right positions and kept the ball well. Was surprised he was taken off instead of Phillips.
Phillips 6 - Gave it his all but seemed to just be a fraction late to everything.
Pedraza 7 - Great first half and constantly a threat, so unlucky with the shot that hit the bar. Less involved second half as we were over run.
Roofe 7 - For me it looked like he was a boy playing against men and they bullied him out of it too easily. Needed to impose himself more. Great movement into space to receive the ball fro Hernandez and great ball into Wood for the goal.
Hernandez 7- Once again the critics will say he was anonymous but the composure he showed at the end to evade one challenge and hold onto the ball and then release the pass at the perfect time, and weight, shows why he needs to be in the team. Too many others would have lumped the ball aimlessly into the box or panicked after evading the tackle and released the ball too early as opposition players closed in on him.
Wood 9 - What can you say about him, hardly had a touch all night up front but worked his socks off defending set pieces and a cool finish with his only chance.
Subs:
Sacko 5 - Was surprised to see him brought on. Could understand Monk's reasoning in the terms of his pace is an outlet and could have enabled us to hit them on the break but he still does nothing with the ball and his confidence looks shot.
Taylor 6 - Hard for him to get into the pace of the game after coming off the bench in a position where he was straightaway involved. Lucky not to get booked and struggled.
Doukara 6 - Like Taylor struggled to get into the pace of the game and had little impact.

Re: Newcastle v Leeds - Team/News/Reports/Ratings
All players in the changing room will have ideas and it is usually the way that certain players would be vocal anyway. The way I heard it Monk allows them to take stock and think, rather than just react straightaway, let them have their say and then make suggestions/orders etc. Very good man-management as he will have to have the final say over what pans etc they will use in the second half but it makes the players feel involved and also, like the sky sports pundit suggested, enables the players to also be able to think for themselves and work out problems if things are going wrong on the pitch.rab_rant wrote:Interesting fact came out about GM method of delivering the HT talk.
