While there is probably not a definitive answer to my question, I've been wondering for a while, why jockey's pull their horses up. Is it usually the case that the horse has suffered some sort of injury or is it a case that they are in a position where they have no chance in finishing in the top three so the jockey has decided to not bother any more. Or is there another reason.
