What a cracking quarter-final right now
Never seen Konta play before, so full of determination, energy & power for such a slim lass

I only wish they could both win. So much to root for in that semi-final match. Whoever does win is the one for whom I'll be cheering in the final.1964white wrote:Wow what a wonderful match....what a player Jo Konta is

Konta v Venetia (sic) Williams in the semi's
Re: Konta - Wimbledon
Been watching Jo Konta for nearly two years now. First time at the US Open. I tend to watch all the tournaments on the Wta
tour, basically a different tournament every week, all year round, all around the world. To watch this young lady develop into this terrific tennis player has been a real privilege, and to hear people talking about her at last is brilliant. I hope there's more to come from her. I didn't bother posting about Wimbledon because I didn't think we had any tennis fans on here....every match Jo has played at Wimbledon this year has been a joy to watch. Hopefully there's more to come

Konta is a joy to watch, oozing so much confidence & has everything in her locker, she has the quality to go on & win the Ladies Final. I really hope so !
Rooting for Federer in the men's as always
Re: Konta - Wimbledon
It's Federer's to lose I think, although I love watching Andy Murray ( I know you don't 64, as I recall your evaluation of him last year. 'Dressed by matalan wearing pit boots' or something along those lines ) Surely even you (as a very fair person) have to admit what the Murray family have done for British tennis ( Judy Murray had quite an impact on Jo Conta's early career I believe)1964white wrote:I usually post up a Wimbledon thread so I know where you are coming from Swan

Re: Konta - Wimbledon
Roger-Konta me too
Re: Konta - Wimbledon
I don't ever want Roger Federer to lose to anyone when it comes to total number of Slams won.
The man has entertained me countless times with his casual brilliance and overall mastery. Nadal has proved to be his hiccough on several occasions but Roger has overcome that in the end.
I wish Murray well too, but not at the expense of Federer.
