Leeds v Port Vale Team/Report/Ratings

Post by Oscar »

Not too bothered about the cups this year and certainly would be prioritising the league, as far as i'm concerned this is a game we should have the quality to win with mostly our second team. Would like to see Klich come on and potentially start against Preston (still think we need to be more composed on the ball than we were yesterday), would also be nice to see Bridcutt get 20 minutes or so think we are going to need Bridcutt and/or Vieira various times this season as we do need at least 1 natural ball winner in the tougher games and against the better teams imo
4-2-3-1:

---------------------------------Green------------------------------

Ayling---Pennington(if fit)-------Cooper-----Borthwick-Jackson

-------------------Phillips------------Vieira-------------------------

Alioski-----------------------Saiz-------------------------Dallas

---------------------------Ekuban----------------------------

Subs: Wiedwald, Anita, Bridcutt, Klich, Hernandez, Sacko, Wood

Use it as a practice match, keep the team pretty similar, no Pennington & Berardi as injured, and give Saiz a go in place of Pablo:

Wiedwald (needs more game time)
Anita, Ayling, Cooper, Borthwick-Jackson
O'Kane, Phillips
Roofe, Saiz, Alioski
Wood

Having said that, he'll probably make nine changes at least!

I would keep as many of the first team as possible fresh for Saturday. That said, we have no real choice at the back to play few of the regulars.

Green
Anita, Coops, Ayling, CBJ
Sacko, Vieira, Klich Dallas
Saiz

No one think Weidwald needs the experience ? I'd start him.

Don't imagine he'd get a lot of work to do in that game. What about Peacock-Farrell

Be surprised if it's not an almost completely changed team:

Green
Anita ayling/cooper oshaughnessy new guy
Klich vieira
Sacko saiz dallas
Ekuban

Maybe he'll stick with wood upfront

Just shows how much we all know - looks like 6 people have selected their XI and pretty much the entire squad has been detailed! Bloody mystery this team selection lark, you have to wonder what goes through the Manager's head when he's working out who to play in a cup game 3 days after a big opening day game and 3 days before a big first home league game of the season. Good luck TC

As TC seems a fairly astute fellow, sure him and the staff have it all worked out and a plan in place.

Really hoping to see some of Saiz and Kilch, could be huge players for us this season.
