Thats my point. If we have the better players, that means Stam did well to get them to finish above us.

I don't know enough about their squad to know which was the better players all I do know is they had a very good spine to the team. I agree Stan did a great job and got them in the play offs which few expected, I think it's his style of play why people are against him.

For me Reading are a capable side in this league and have not only the basis with previous form in not only play offs but top tier too. And they have been up there this last 2-3 years knocking out a top six place and they are going to be not far away again . Ok Stam's brand of football isn't for easy on the eye but for me they have quality and th know how.

Don't need him now we have Pennington.
Don't want a player that falls out with Pontus, It was after they had a tif that our results went downhill.

Could be available January as Clement will probably be out of the job by then.

Where have you got this from, mate, first I've heard it? All reports were Monk and PJ fell out, no mention of Bartley

I'm sure I read somewhere that Bartley and Jansson had a fall out, Monk took Bartley's side hence the fallout between Monk and Jansson. No idea if it's true or just someone guessing.

There's 'taking sides' and agreeing with an opinion. Maybe the fall out, if such it was, was about Pontus' tendency to be over-exuberant in his celebrations or picking up silly yellow cards, but Bartley wasn't the captain so, as you say, we really don't know. It's certainly true that whatever happened wrecked our playoff chances. It will be interesting to see how Pontus gets on with Pennington.

Cheers, Ges, new one on me. We might never know the truth of that spat, but it derailed us without doubt
