Leeds v Birmingham - Team,News,Reports & Ratings

Post by 1964white »

Harry arrives with his team in impressive form

Four consecutive defeats with losses v Norwich, Reading & Burton  plus losing at home to Bournemouth in the cup.

Arry joins Larry & Fatboy Steve in line for an early potential chop :-D British managers eh !

Should be interesting which team TC goes for v the Brummies. Anita could be a possible doubt as he was replaced with an injury at half-time v Burton. Borthwick-Jackson or Berardi could be recalled into the line of duty
Will Alioski return after Roofe's impressive display ?

Maybe Alioski in for Hernandez. Imaging the energy with Roofe, Lasogga, Saiz, and Alioski going forward could be intense.

Think it was just a non-serious eye injury and should be okay for the match - but what options with Berardi and CBJ.

The premiership has almost become a no go for English managers and the championship could be heading that way.

You would expect Harry Redknapp with all his experience to be really getting his team fired up for this game and the worry is that we may have an 'after the lord mayor's show' type performance. Hopefully TC will be able to snap out any complacency and get the team fired up again.

Leeds to win by at least 3 goals, Harry to walk away with a brown envelope in his back pocket and the Brummys going home all blue again

Id like to see.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . Wiedwald . . . . . . . . . .

Ayling . . . . Cooper . . . . . . Pontus . . . . Bj

. . . . . . . . . . O'Kane . . . . Klich . . . . . .

Alioski . . . . . . . . . . . Saiz . . . . . . . . . . . Roofe

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Lasogga. . . . . . . . . . . . .

Alioski is rested now and had arguably his best game against Forest, Roofe deserves his start for his recent form and Saiz the same as Roofe.

32 year old Hernandez give him a rest now.

Cbj is more attacking then Anita and i think Jota will start on there right. Cbj will offer more of an attacking threat and keep jota at the wrong end for him and has the pace to get back to if needed.

Phillips has done nothing wrong but Klich has done well when come on and like to see him given a chance.

Edit . . Dont expect that to happen and wouldn't expect any changes except maybe Alioski but imo the lineup above would be great. Lots of pace and energy with a very experienced spine.

Same 11 for me, before the Burton game I did see this as an opportunity for us to rotate the squad a little bit but can't change the team after that performance on Saturday imo.

--------------------------------Wiedwald-----------------------------------

Ayling----------------Jansson----------Cooper-------------------Anita

------------------------Phillips---------------O'Kane-----------------------

Roofe-----------------------------Saiz-----------------------------Hernandez

----------------------------------Lasogga---------------------------------------

Subs: Lonergan, Borthwick-Jackson, Klich, Vieira, Alioski, Dallas, Grot

I would play Pablo on Tuesday and then rest him on Saturday at Millwall:
a.) not convinced he can play 3 games in 7 days, b.) Millwall away doesn't suit his style, c.) We have plenty of options to replace him.

Only change for me would be Alioski for Hernandez. Not a fan of Phillips but he is doing the business so would be unfair to change him for Klich who I think will create more in the final third. Borthwick Jackson would be a better attacking option than Anita but then we have 5 attackers anyway .

Spot on for me Oscar - I'd go with that exact same line up and strategy with Pablo.

I don't want to get carried away and think tomorrow morning will be a breeze but anyone nervous about tomorrow ?
it's still early Days and the Season is long but if we are going to be challenging for Promotion well Birmingham at home is a must Win in terms of making Elland rd a place opposition teams fear coming to and maintaining the pressure on the pack behind us on the ladder.

Don't like unforced changes to a winning team, but I might be inclined to replace Hernandez with Alioski. Or start with Pablo and, if he looks leggy, bring on Alioski for the second half

According to Blues fans there left back position is there weakness, think Alioski would be our best bet on that side but dont expect him to start unfortunately

Just looking at the Sky ticker tape and it reads that Anita (eye) and O'Kane ( groin) fit, but Lasogga doubtful for family reasons. Darn it, I've got him down to score two goals!

Same team as Burton, except Alioski in for Roofe. Bit harsh on Kemar, but Alioski could have a blinder as Brum fans do not rate their left back. Berardi and Vieira back on the bench in place of Klich and Shaughnessy. Only one defender on the bench again. Thomas going for it methinks.
