Some top contenders thought Saif again was excellent, Kalvin was great in the first half but dropped off a bit in the second and O'Kane thankfully came more to the fore in the second half, I was very concerned when lost Cooper he didn't have his best game so far this season but is definitely becoming the player we hoped he would

Saiz
Phillips
O'Kane

Jansson
O'Kane
Cooper

From a mix viewing and listening.

Ayling and Phillips could easily have been in there.

Jansson (some great blocks and headed clearances)
Phillips (Kept beavering away and disrupting their play)
Ayling ( Worth it just for the clearance off the line to save Wiedwalds blushes )

I thought 'Arry was totally deluded in his assessment of the game mate, mentioned in my report that I felt we deserved the win despite not being at our best similar to our games against Bolton and Sunderland we did what we had to win the game. Birmingham had a lot of the ball in the second half and got into some really good positions but didn't create any clear chances, whilst we created 3 big opportunities just in the second half alone on the counter attack. .

1. Hernandez- I thought he was excellent overall, a quiet first half but so effective in the second half. Birmingham had a lot of the ball in the second half, so Pablo had to be efficient with his use of the ball and he was. Creating 2 glorious chances for Lasogga and Saiz. His work for the Lasogga chance was excellent, chased Jota back won the ball ran 20 yards with the ball and played a lovely reverse pass into Lasogga with the perfect weight behind it.
2. Cooper- I thought he was great made a crucial block in the second half
3. Ayling- Brilliant clearance off the line and yet again another solid performance.

6 sets of 3's for Pontus

Those of you who didn't include Jansson in your top three must have been watching a different match to everyone else. His three blocks/tackles/numerous winning headers plus Ayling's clearance off the line in the first half kept us in the game & were the best highlights of our defending throughout the match
