You need to get out & play the game my dear Hector, I guarantee you'd be hooked

You never know you could end up my team as my No.1

Glossing over the transportation difficulties Leon, if Hector turned out to be really top class, you might end up as his no.1

That maybe the case Norm....Hector as my skip :-D

Right now unfortunately I'm skipping our evening pairs team although I prefer to play No.1. I like to put the pressure on the opposition having a clear run to the jack with accurate bowling where as skipping is somewhat difficult at times as ones line maybe blocked, much more pressure !

I made the decision to play No.2 in our triples team as I can control the team play/tactics much better from that position helping the No.1 & advising the skip if required

It's a long time since I watched bowls - it's a long time since I lived in England. I played a little when younger but nowhere near your level. I always enjoyed the fresh air and gentle exercise but, when I moved to Acomb in 1967 I had a young family and shift work. I went to watch Leeds as often as I could but bowls faded into the background.

I only wish I'd taken up bowls in 1967 Norm, I was too busy playing football, rugby & cricket.

There are some very good teenagers & lads in their 20's/30's playing in our area at a much higher level than myself. With bowls you can continue to play the sport throughout the whole of your life if you remain fit & healthy. Keeps this little ol' man active

Katherine Rednall, 22yo, has successfully defended her Ladies' Singles title at the World Indoor Bowls Championships 2018, with a 2-0 win over Norwich's Rebecca Field

Just watched a recording of the match

Unbelievable bowls from the young lass :-D

Dawes been the best player deserved to win
That young lass who won the ladies was also brilliant.

Still can't believe Harlow blew that last end in the1/4 :o

Dawes & Rednall were almost perfect throughout the tournament. Exceptional bowls.
