Good to get the three points and our second win in three games on the back of a pretty good display. But Barnsley have to be one of the worst teams I've seen in quite some time.

Good win but Barnsley poor. Doesn’t really say whether we’re out of the rut yet or not. Saiz probably motm just about, thought he was poor b6 his standards second half, gave the ball away quite a few times but maybe he was just tired

Weidwald - 7 - One relegulation save, couple of dodgy punches. Quiet throughout though.
Ayling - 7 - Going forward he played well, defence still shaky
Beradi - 7 - One key clearance, never tested that much though
Jansson - 8 - Good game from our best defender. Almost got himself into trouble a few times with the Ref after the early yellow
Cooper - 7 - Some nice blocks, solid today
Alioski - 9 - Thought he had a good game all round today capped by the goal
O'Kane - 4 - Hardly noticed him tbh, but when I did it was to check who just lost possession
Phillips - 6 - Was he playing? Think he had a shot that missed the target at one point
Hernandez - 7 - Good game.
Saiz - 9 - Busy all game, got a bit lucky with the goal but a constant irritation to the Barnsley defence. Would like to see a better end product sometimes
Ekuban - 8 - Quick, got into good positions, 3 shots on goal two on target. Deserved a goal plus defended well which is something we don't get from Roofe

Roofe - 6 - Flashed a little today again but on too late to make much of a contribution
Shaughnessy - 6 - Upgrade on O'Kane, looks better in defence and a couple of good passes.
Grot - 6 - No time

Good display, admittedly against a poor Barnsley team (on the day cos they are usually better than that ), we showed some much needed determination, Ekuban looks a decent prospect if given game time, certainly more energy than lassoga. Embarrassing antics from some of our backroom team with the yellow card shananigans, hate that sort of thing

Agree with all except Phillips. Hassled and harried them in midfield. Not many ball-winning tackles today, but rushed their players into misplaced passes. Put in a shift.
Ekuban won six tackles in the first half. That's amazing for a striker.

Thought Phillips looked like he deliberately tried to reign in his challenges, couple of times he could have steamed in to a 70/30 and he held off (rightly) - better for it. Thought ratings were harsh on O’Kane above, him and KP bossed midfield, thought Shaunie looked a bit of the pace when he came on, admittedly with Barnsley throwing men forward and game getting stretched.

O'Kane tried hard, but looks a shadow of his early season games.
Shaughnessy looked a little off the pace, but to be fair, anyone not playing in the first team will look less match sharp. Just needs game time. Still got in the was closing down, to force them into mistakes.

I agree. Phillips looked like he's trying to pick his challenges more carefully. Experience is coming with game time.

Barnsley looked poor but there not.
Ran Spurs close in the cup, a team that included Dembele, Ali, Vertonghen, Winks and Liorente.
Draws vs Boro and Wednesday.
Only lost by 1 to Cardiff, Wolves and Sheffield Utd.

Not a bad side at all.

We on the other hand are all or nothing.

Very good or very bad

Yeah - saw em down at Carra Rd a couple of weeks back, were unlucky not to win. Not as bad as we made them look today.

( although I do have us down for a win on the score prediction, I won't be surprised if we are embarrased once again ) For the sake of our supporters going to this game I hope our lot realise just what a Yorkshire Derby means!
Well! I got that wrong. We were very up for it I'm really pleased to say. A great performance, we didn't allow Barnsley to play and two fantastic goals....especially Alioski's  More of the same on Friday against Villa please. (sick and tired of Sky messing with our games though, even if it does mean I can watch them. )
