December fixtures - reasons to be hopeful

Post by Rex deWolf »

Our first December fixture against Villa (1:1 draw) was probably our hardest.

The others are: QPR away., Norwich home, Hull home, Burton away, and Birmingham away. A really good chance to put ourselves firmly into the top places. What do you all think

There's our predictions for December on the link above Rex

On paper we should gain plenty of points as long as we play well & we have no injuries/suspensions to key players over the next few weeks

Norwich home, Hull home, Burton away, and Birmingham away.

I'm an optimist : Draw, win, win, win, win 13 points

On paper we should be aiming to win em all. Those are games genuine promotion candidates win.

First half stats show that we can be :(

only Wolves have more points and its only 2 more.

Just need a bit more quality, 3 or 4 players, that will give us better options and hopefully improve our second half :-D

If we are hoping to get in the top 6, then 11 points from 15 from these fixtures is a minimum.

Agree with most of this. Good results in the next 5 games will determine if we are genuine contenders or not - I think we can be.

I'm not a fan of the second transfer window, so not so sure about another batch of new players. It has taken all season so far to come up with the nucleus of a team we now have. Team spirit and unity is more important now If we are to progress

I'm not either.

But we severely lack in key areas, this squad hasnt been good enough to sustain a genuine challenge and see no reason that would improve without a few additions, and improve it must.

At present we are on target for 70points or so, not enough.

A quality keeper wouldn't upset the equilibrium too much I suppose, but not sure if that's even being considered. Victor Orta is probably working on his wishlist. Image

You mean, draw, draw, win, win, win? Think that's an absolute minimum Image

I think so..they won't come much easier than these, so these are the ones we need near maximum points from.

Wiedwald has looked bit better tbf.

Think a cb, lb, experienced playmaker and another attacking option comes before a new gk.

We have an experienced playmaker but (don't know about Villa) he hasn't even been on the bench since 'The Tweet'.

Klich 'Liked' a Twitter post which said some players could have poor games yet still get selected, but that others (I.e. him) made 1 mistake and was banished, or words to that effect. That was on Nov 8th I think and he's not even been on the bench since.

Oh, and Villa, I didn't know when I made the post whether or not he was on the bench for that game. Sorry, I wasn't very clear there. I'll try to improve. :)
