I think my first single was either 'She Loves You' or 'From Me To You'

Best of Cream compilation was one of my early vinyl purchases

And now for the first of your Favourite Song Poll

FAVOURITE SONG POLL

The contest will run on a knockout basis just like the FA Cup

As there are three decades with 36 songs & two decades with 38 songs we need to reduce each decade down to 32 songs therefore qualifying rounds is the first priority

Mrs 64 will draw the songs for the qualifiers & then make the draw for the preliminary part of this competition

Songs from the individual decades will play drawn against each other with every era concluding to a cup final stage

Then we’ll finish with a Grand Final featuring the semi-finalists of each decade

All our participants need to do is vote for your favourite song in each match

No DRAWS or sitting on the fence votes permitted.

For the newbies playing for the first time just follow the lead or our regulars when submitting your votes

There's a strange one Hector

Most are voting for Dylan even though some are not really BD fans. I generally love Dylan (have 18 of his albums on my shelves) but was never keen on that particular song, there again I loved the Abba scene, one of the great pop groups of all-time, most music fans into the rock would find the Swedish act cheesy

We are all different :-D

This match was a difficult one for me, two songs I hadn't heard previously. I love them both, such a shame I had choose one of them as they both deserve to go through to the next round.
In the end I went for liggy's nominated Northumbrian folk song.
Sorry Faaip but the good thing to come out of your nomination is I'll be checking out the Be Good Tanyas album
