I'm afraid so Fred, well it is January

Four players down & counting with such a slender squad to call on

Recall Lewie Coyle from Fleetwood before the end of the window otherwise he’ll have to see out the rest of his loan. He’s come on leaps and bounds and has been a consistent performer for them. They must have good coaching staff at Fleetwood as Charlie Taylor came back from his loan a much better player.

Shame for Ayling, but we have a better RB in Berardi anyway. As Rich says, recall Lewie Coyle to give us some cover. Don't panic, Captain Mainwaring!!!

Good shout Rich although I'm uncertain we can recall Lewie as he went out on a season-long loan.

Whether there is any flexibility in the initial agreed terms I don't know :duno:

According to Phil Hay, as long as it’s done during the window his loan can be terminated

Right then get Lewie back at ER, he's a better footballer than the majority of those who played at Newport & we know Coyle we'll at least put a shift in

Thats a shame.

Just as we look like sorting our left side we get a problem on our right.

The good thing to some degree is that Ayling's injury and the Newport debacle have both come at a time when we can actually turn them into our advantage as the transfer window is open. The Newport debacle exposed our back up players as probably not being good enough if needed and Ayling's injury seemed to have spurred us on to tying to sign the Belgian left back and spending a fair bit on him - presuming the club knew Ayling was going to be out otherwise they may have simply decided to carry on with Ayling at RB and Berardi at LB. Potentially it could make us stronger as we will have better balance.

If the left back signs then I would be tempted to keep Coyle at Fleetwood. Better to have him playing every week there rather than sat on the bench at Leeds waiting for someone to get injured - obviously it could backfire if he is out on loan and we do get a serious injury.

Risky mate if Berardi or De Bock suffer injury or a suspension. Who would play RB or LB should that scenario occur ?

Anita takes over at RB if Beradi or De Bock gets injured. Next man up in his best position. After that it would be Denton at LB I think. Very few teams go 3 deep with quality at any position...how good is Wolves number 3 RB?

Anita started well at Leeds but he has been torn apart too many times for me including by a League 2 winger last Sunday, both full-backs were woeful

I personally prefer Coyle to Anita.....I read somewhere he has progress really well at Fleetwood

If we can get him back. If Anita can't play RB for us he may as well just leave. It's what we bought him for

Fits the Leeds way, young, unproven at this level, but hope.
Wouldn't cost tons of cash, potential for good profit in the future.

Prefer recalling Coyle, but for the right price, why not.

really think we've underused anita. He's not a full back - but he can provide cover there. Have we ever seen him play in his normal defensive mid position? I feel sorry for him

I agree, we've not always been brilliant there this season - would have seemed to have made sense to give him a go, can't understand it.
