Mirco Antenucci

Post by Cjay »

Still going strong in Italy at 33.

3rd top scorer in Serie B last season for the Champions.
6 goals and 6 assists for that side in Serie A this season.

A better goals to minutes ratio of any Championship Leeds striker apart from Chris Wood and Lassie.

Bit underrated is Mirco imo. Loved him when he was here, had a touch of class.

45 starts 19 goals for us.

Wouldn't mind him coming back tbh if we are looking at strikers in Italy.

Cant work out how to put the video up :(

Always thought he had more to offer but never got the run he needed and often played in the wrong position, which has been quite a few over the last 5/6 seasons, including this.

Similar to Billy Sharp who was another one who never seemed to be considered first choice.

Sol Bamba was arguably MOTM when we played them at Cardiff.

Steve Morison was definitely MOTM when they bashed us at ER

Billy Sharp has haunted us twice wiith his three goals plus he put in a MOTM performance last Saturday

Antenucci was up & down during his time at Leeds

What do they put in the water Leeds ??

Is the reason they played in a very poor/average LUFC in their time at ER ?

Also some players suit certain clubs is another plausible reason

Has always been the way - didn't we have the tag as a "striker's graveyard" for a while. We've signed loads of CFs who've scored goals everywhere but stick them in a white shirt and they can't hit a barn door.

Strikers who I've seen actually improve / not get any worse at ER - Bobby Davison, Lee Chapman, Tony Yeboah , Mark Viduka, Jermaine Beckford and lately Chris Wood (after a sluggish start).....off the top of my head, probably missed some obvious ones.....ahh just remembered little fatty McContract
