Think Caleb will get quite a few chances as he is a TC sort of player.

If you look at his last club they had Pieros Sotiriou, similar to Ekuban, big lad but not a bulldozer, intelligent and quick.

Decent record, in TCs season he really kicked on. Im sure TC will have had a hand in that.

Ekuban was a TC buy undoubtedly.

Similar to the strikers he saw at Barca (not that level of course). But more intelligent and quick then battering rams, but not afraid of a battle.

I like him - when he gets on his own roll I can see him taking off, if he is given the chance, and really doing us proud.

Our most effective attacking player.
He occupied the Villa back line well, his pace and movement was excellent and some of his link up play was first class.

Just needs a goal.

Apparently left the stadium on crutches with a protection boot on.

Thought he may have the same injury as before.

Awful if true.

Bad news, Roofe may have played himself into starting up front but would have been nice to have on the bench. Bad loss if out for a while

He looked pretty upset with something prior to going off, didn’t show it again on stream I was watching.

Hopefully Lasogga will be back so that at least we have options - also with Cibicki showing promise it hopefully means we won't be fully stretched squad wise.

Certainly start Roofe over Lassoga. Personally don't believe Lassoga is injured he's in the dog house with Klich, the one Vierra managed to escape from so there maybe hope

A suspected foot injury

An ambulance was outside the players entrance so I wonder if Ekuban had to be hospitalised

That's Ekuban out for the season then as I feared when he went down got back up & immediately went to ground again

Shame for him, but 6 weeks, maybe sooner, not as bad as feared, good luck Caleb.

Seems to come back quickly from nasty injuries and hope he gets a good run of games, even as sub, now so we can really get to see how good he can be. Definitely looked promising with a bit of pace and strength about him just gotta hope he isn't a Sacko clone as the question mark is about his end product.

Thought he did ok myself.

Movement was good, touch let him down occasionally, but we know he has excellent link up play so put that down to rustiness.

Just dont know i he will score.

Wouldnt mind seeing him keep his place against Wednesday.

Lasogga can get us a goal with one turn and shot, he has certainly got a foot on him but CE makes the opposition defence think more. When the opposition play the ball out they know they have an extra second to think about what they are doing as Lasogga has no pace, he huffs and puffs without really putting any pressure on the defence. I quite like CE but he needs to start finding the back of the net soon.

For me at this stage he is better as an impact sub to utilise his pace against tired defenders. He may grow into the sole striker role but to be a sole striker he needs goals on a consistent basis. Bringing him on around the hour mark, possibly as a 2nd striker or winger without defensive responsibility will lessen the pressure and necessity on him to score. Certainly think there is a good player in there and if he can score goals then we could have a really good player on our hands.

I see the twitterverse have decided that Ekuban isnt good enough

Getting tons of sarky comments and abuse . . .

Based on his minutes amounting to 5 games, or 39 minutes a game. Suppose they have to decide someone isnt good enough, Chris Wood, Pierre Lasogga, Jay Roy Grot, Gianni Alioski now Ekuban. Gotta have an attacker to boo :duno:

ffs give the guy a chance.
