Very sad, I had the pleasure of seeing him live at Leeds Grand 5 years ago and although I’ve seen lots of comedians live I’ve never laughed as much. He loved doing tours and got his pleasure out of entertaining people and in his words “spreading happiness” a true comedy legend.

I met Ken Dodd when I was about 9. I was on a tv programme "We Want To Sing" which featured hundreds of school children singing along with him. He used to walk up and down the aisles and hold out his microphone for kids to sing into. I was sat there with my hair in bunches, he held out the mic to me, I froze and shook my head  he gave his toothy grin and moved on. :bear:
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.

Honestly couldn't warm to him.

Always thought of him as a fortuitous tax evader and overrated comedian.

If Piggott had been a wacky Scouser and had his court case in Liverpool...he might not have gone to prison.

Guilty m'lud.

A friend of mine went to see him a few years ago....apparently he stayed on stage until everyone went home. He stayed as long as the audience wanted him to carry on....

So he never touched you up with his tickling stick.
I suppose that function was reserved for Gino.

A friend of mine said he did the very same thing, if he liked the audience it would always do it apparently, my friend also said he was one of the funniest comedians he'd seen, a lot bluer than TV would allow.

Ronan and KD had one thing in common: they were both 'diddy' men ;-)

That was probably the protein content.

BTW I just realised I'm Derek, not Clive.
