Best Championship manager imo right now is Slav Jokanovic at Fulham.

Then there was Oscar Garcia at Brighton.

Rafa Benitez at Newcastle.

David Wagner at Huddersfield.

Nuno at Wolves

Ok Rafa and Nuno probably had pretty easy jobs based on players.

But then further back Jean Tigana at Fulham.

Aitor Karanka at Boro.

All of them had as good or better Championship records then practically any English manager.

On the whole there teams were better to watch.

Hecky, Johnson, Monk, Rowett, none of them have made the playoffs, all of the above did at a minimum
Heard a comment on sky yesterday during the Wolves game that Brum were 4th highest spenders in the league and also had an experienced English manager in Harry ...... disproves the myths that you need a manager who knows the league and spend decent amounts of cash to guarantee success.

Probably because he doesn't know what to do with him. "His" players are those with limited talent who get stuck in and hover in lower midtable.

Exactly. Sadly this myth will continue when PH is finally sacked.

Haha so true. Then the media act all surprised that they don't get chances in the PL. They're just desperate to hype up any English manager. Heck is a "top young manager" with 10 wins in his last 63 Championship games.

Funny you mention this.

Just seen this from David Prutton.
https://www.footballinsider247.com/sky- ... -decision/

Right David lets see then shall we.
https://www.transfermarkt.com/champions ... =18&max=30

Results under Hecky are much worse then under TC in his last 13.

Next excuse.

Exactly.

Couldn't get much more experience then Arry.

And Birmingham splashed the cash and now they have a "talented young English coach" and are staring relegation in the face.

In fact they are on English coach number 3.

Makes me wonder if Radz will fall for the myth again next time or go foreign and not give them enough time.

Conversely if Heck was foreign they'd be criticising his appointment and questioning why a young English manager wasn't given a chance instead.

Great article - this paragraph though has me hugely concerned as it would suggest that PH is doing even worse than the results show. This would definitely put us in the sh*t if he is allowed to carry on as our current form under him is relegation form as it is - if we get worse then we will sink without trace.

This is not the first time, incidentally, that Goddard has dispelled popular myths. More than a decade ago his research with Stephen Dobson showed the ‘new-manager bounce’ phenomenon is inaccurate because improvements in form after a sacking tend to be just regression to the mean. Why? Well, dismissals usually follow a poor run of results – but those defeats are often down to random bad luck, injuries and a tough run of fixtures, which tend to even out. And when they do, those frustrating defeats and draws suddenly become wins.

We all know he'll be in charge until about October when we're struggling in the bottom 3 and miles off the top 6 and we'll appoint someone like McCarthy and finish 16th. Another completely wasted season. Just put us out of our misery and hire a top manager ready for pre season.

I'm worried he'll bring in crap we can't shift after he leaves and our better players will go.

Heck admitting that "Leeds have quality players". The same ones who are suddenly not good enough because he can't win a game.

We do have three or four quality players plus three decent young lads coming through, we also have a lot of dirge whom are not good enough to wear the white shirt of Leeds

Has been the case for years :(

Wants to bring in another "experienced" coach.

If true and Radz says no think that tells everyone what is going to happen.
