Various "sources" on twitter claim that's the opinion inside Elland Road about Hecky, can they all be wrong :(

Think we need to go big on the manager.

Decent managers attract decent players, until we sort that out what decent player will come?

absolutely yes. I think Heckingbottom has the ability to be a very good number 2. Not sure he's a manager though

fred wrote: Tue May 01, 2018 1:42 am Here some numbers in regard to how much we invested net (difference of total fees of players sold and bought) in the last seasons trying to improve he squad.

17/18: +10m
16/17: 0
15/16: +1.5m
14/15: +1m
13/14: -3m
12/13: -2m

Would seem that Radz was prepared to invest more in playes than the owners the years before.
But also seems to suggest a total lack of being prepared and/or being able to invest serious money.
10m last season, 20m net spend isn’t unrealistic for this summer

BBF/Weidwald (if we can't sell him)

Ayling/Coyle/Beradi
LB/Pearce/De Bock
Jansson/Cooper
New CB/O'Conner/Shaughnessy

Aliosski/New RW
Forshaw (Capt)/Phillips
Klich (if return)/Vierra
New LW/

Hernandez/Saiz

New CF

Roofe in 442 mode

back these up with the best of the kids

Why you think so? Can`t see the logic behind that statement.

dezzy wrote: Mon Apr 30, 2018 8:58 pm I don’t know, all the talk last summer was build a squad, top 6 and add the finishing touch for 2019, they failed, will they push the boat out financially to meet targets? Who knows... 25milliom isn’t that much of we sell say 5 million worth at a push, if they could fund the stadium there is surely a stash of cash somewhere!
We will be lucky to sell players for 2 m. Name those players who could generate 5m...can`t see them (mabe if you add the saved wages, but even then...).
Spendig 20m on top of that: if that happens I will eat humble pie, but I`m 99% sure that it won`t.

As a 4-2-3-1

BPF/Lonergan

Ayling/Coyle/Berardi
DeBock/Pearce/Berardi

Jansson/ New CB / Cooper / O'Connor / Shaugnessy

Forshaw/Klich/Viera/ Philips (would like to see Ideguchi in the mix but would have to have great pre season)

Saiz/Hernandez/Alioski/Dallas/Roofe

New CF / Roberts / Ekuban

Best of U-23's as additional back up - Dalby, Clarke, Rey, Denton, Kun

Get rid (free or sell): Wiedwald, O'Kane, Sacko, Anita (would keep as squad player but sure wages are horrendous), Bouy, Antonssen
Loan (still something to offer): Grot, Cbicki

Not what we need anyway, we've already got Diaz, Struijk and O'Connor for CBs with potential. We need a partner for Pontus only really. Cooper is ok for backup/rotation.

Investment in other parts of the club were needed last year, this year if we are serious about going up they have to spend, if they spent 10 last year, with all their other spending, this summer they should have extra cash to spend, if players like Bartley are on their list it would want to be 20m

I’m telling ye all now, sad thing is I doubt we’re looking West for players, Preston got themselves two from Cork last year alone! Sadlier is 24 this year, I’m sure he’d have a similar impact to Sean McGuire,

Monk grabbed Paudie O'Connor from Limerick I think and there's a couple of others in the lower ranks we attained from Ireland/Northern Ireland...plus the link above so we do look west

Probably another one for the 23's. Wonder if we'll have too many: Grot, Dalby, Clarke, Edmundson, Whyte
