Still don't understand why Kane is so highly rated.

Well that's it. Not watching Saturday or Sunday, don't give a flying f**k who wins. Completely lost interest. Devastated we've lost tonight :verysad: :verysad: :verysad: :bear:
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.

I fancied Croatia since the start of the tournament

As soon as we played a top side we folded nevertheless we did well to go so far !

Don't despair young lady, it was always a tough ask

As a football fan I'll be watching :soccer:

Never missed a World Cup Final, only missed a few games in this tournament because we were on holiday in St Ives

I've lost interest too.

We managed to win against Tunisia, Panama (who?) and Sweden ...that's not great form

Wont ever have a better route to a World Cup Final.

Almost as depressing as Leeds. :(

Missed most of the 2nd half and extra time - probably glad I did.
I had it taped, watched the highlights and we just about completely lost the plot didn't we? Lots of deer with headlights coming towards them.
That's a tremendous disappointment - I didn't think England were better than Croatia but thought we had a chance.
Now I know we didn't have much of one.
I think we lost it when tempers frayed and handbags started - Croatia were more controlled.
England haven't got a bad squad and, for the first half of the first half, they didn't do bad. I hope they can get over it and grow from it, individually and collectively, for the future.
I hope Croatia beat France on Sunday.

Some interesting pieces but a long way to go to get close to some of those good England teams that usually got very unlucky in major championships. Kanes bad misses first half not the sign of a quality striker. Said that would come back to bite us.

Me too bb....not really bothered about Sat or Sun. I think the third place game is ridiculous anyway. Just have a final with a winner and a runner up like in most other competitions. How can any players hearts be in a game like that

As ever. I don't think we'll ever win a major tournament again. It's more likely Leeds win another premiership title

I do like Southgate, admits we weren't good enough

So dignified unlike many premiership managers

That's what may have happened in a way - that "It's going Home" tripe was an expectation too far and must have put an anvil on every one of those young players' backs. I never did like it really. I sincerely hope people don't get on their backs when they come home because it would destroy their spirit and they need to be encouraged to learn from it and do better next time, in the Euros.

I still think Southgate did well - we played in a qualifying group (Euros and/or WC) with Croatia at least once and possibly twice a few years ago and I seem to remember they were getting as good if not better than us on occasion back then.

Those players can return home with great credit & don't deserve any criticism whatsoever, they were competing against the worlds best but the lack of experience & quality found them out, in the end the mountain was too high to climb
