What a difference in the performance of these players from last year.
As I said last week, early days, but you've got to feel optimistic after these two games.
If Stoke and Derby are any good, then Leeds are going to be very good this year.

Whenever Bamford went down it took him an age to get back up and into the game.
I don't think that is the type of player Bielsa wants... too lackadaisical.
Everyone else was up in the opponents faces and didn't let them have a chance
to draw a breath, whereas at times he was just sauntering around.
He needs to up his game to fit into this team.

Kudos to Lampard for acknowledging we were the better team
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.

I watched an earlier interview and the cameraman was most sympatheticbecchio bear wrote: ↑Sat Aug 11, 2018 6:42 pm Wow what a performance. We played passing football, we didn't get phased. We won :-)
Sorry but I think someone from our team should be put forward instead of Bielsa for the interviews. Slight time delay is ok, questions asked and Bielsa's answers given via the English speaking person. Just my opinion of course.
He focused entirely on Bielsa and kept the interpreter out of the frame,
so the whispers were not so obvious, and it looked like Bielsa was answering
in English. They should insist on that format during interviews.

i was actually referring to the after match interview. I said it last week and said it again today... I do find it embarrassing .rab_rant wrote: ↑Sat Aug 11, 2018 6:57 pm I watched an earlier interview and the cameraman was most sympathetic

He can answer in pig Latin for all I care provided we keep performing like that.becchio bear wrote: ↑Sat Aug 11, 2018 7:02 pm i was actually referring to the after match interview. I said it last week and said it again today... I do find it embarrassing .
What a performance. Managed to pick the game up on the stream and it was a joy to watch. Even after we took our foot off the gas after going 4-1 up We looked comfortable.
Roofe is looking quality at the moment it's just a case of IF we can keep the intensity up for the season.

It may be embarrassing but it only adds to the mystique of El Loco.becchio bear wrote: ↑Sat Aug 11, 2018 7:02 pm i was actually referring to the after match interview. I said it last week and said it again today... I do find it embarrassing .
He certainly is his own man. I wonder if these interviews are part
of his tactics. Other managers will observe the inept nature of these
interviews and come to the wrong conclusion that Bielsa isn't the
brightest light in the sideshow arcade, whereas inside he is laughing
cos he knows he is a tactical genius.
Fox the opposition on and off the pitch must be his philosophy.
HE can stutter and splutter as much as he wants as long as we keep winning.

Great display again !! Ayling didn't miss a tackle, Klich is a revelation, Liam (he has a mistake in him) Cooper is confident and commanding and as good as any CB in the division and Roofe well.......!! Lets keep it going against a lesser fancied team next saturday

Re: Derby County versus Leeds United Official match day thread
I'd say our best performance since the Champions League days. Everyone magnificent.
Positives:
Backed up a great performance, with an even better one. So used to seeing us play well then have a poor game next.
Comprehensively outplayed two of the promotion favourites, playing good football, not hoofball or through luck.
Cooper, Phillips and Roofe have stepped up another level.
Shackleton making his debut.
The quality of all the goals.
Only conceded from set pieces so far this season and looked comfortable defensively.
Negatives:
Still early days.
Poor mistake from BPF for the goal.
Still no Jansson, surely must start in the cup.
Berardi still looks a liability at the back.
Pablo had one of those games where he was invisible.
Keep this up and a PL will try and poach Bielsa and throw money at him.
We will be everyone's favourites for the league now, adding new pressure.
Bamford's attitude seemed petulant, throwing his arms up, moaning to the ref and getting a stupid booking when 4-1 up. Not sure what he's got to be frustrated about, but he needs to cut that out.
