Jack Clarke- Get Your Boots On

Post by Cjay »

Another superb performance today in the 5-0 demolition of Bristol City.

Cracking finish for his goal and 2 assists.

Think he is on 3 or 4 goals already and 4 or 5 assists.

Surely just a matter of time before he gets his chance?

Doesnt turn 18 for another few months.

Has been a standout performer for the u23s since January.

Beats defenders for fun, enough awareness to pick out his teammates with good crosses.

Jack Harrison and Lewis Baker both played well today.

But both outshone by Clarke.

Should be remembered he turned down Manchester City.

That shows how highly regarded he is.

His goal today was beautiful.

If we don't give him a chance, he will leave. He's already too good for the u23s at 17, Cook was a regular at 17, so I don't see why he isn't in contention. Ease him in with a few appearances off the bench and give him a run out. I'd love to see him playing alongside Pablo and Saiz.

Heard a lot about the lad but first time I've been able to get a look at him today, and he lived up to his press alright. Loved the way he drove into the box to set Bamford up, and he hit the bar himself just after.

I agree, get him blooded - with him and Shackleton breaking through and some of the other lads developing fast - Diaz, Stevens, Edmondson, Hosannah - we'll have strength in depth for every position who all play the same way and all know what's expected.

We need to hold on to them though, and performances like this one will attract unwanted attention.

Get Pablo mentoring him.

Back up for Ali.

Harrison back up for Pablo.

Get him in the 18 for Birmingham or Preston.

The U23's have been impressive this season Davy, today's performance confirmed the promise & is very encouraging for LUFC's future. Clarke will surely make the bench soon, Bielsa will know when he is ready for the step-up to championship football though.

Thanks Leon, any indication whether the opportunity to watch the game this afternoon on the new app was a one-off or will be a regular feature?

The stream was keek as is the LUFC norm, but I'd sign up again to watch the young lads regularly if they sorted it. Bought LUFC twice over different seasons and it's been unusable, can't understand why when LUFC illegal global streams are perfect and Radz is a media mogul.

Unsure Davy

It is ironic that Radz who is a media mogul struggles to get LUTV right

I believe the U23's will attract big audiences if Radz improves the service as these young lads are very good to watch. Fans won't fork out good money for a poor coverage!

Last season i watched a lot of the u23 games on LUTV somehow, dont know how, didnt download anything but the games were there.

This season ive only watched yesterdays, had to download the app for the 2nd half. Was a bit poo at first, kept stopping and forcing closed, but settled down for the last 30mins or so.

Didnt pay anything so cant complain.

Millwall away isn't the time or place for him to make his debut. I'll be very surprised if he doesn't get on against either Preston or Birmingham.

Scored again today.

Noticed that 95% of the time I've seen Clarke play he has played on the left.

Last two times he has played on the right.

Testing him out for the Hernandez role perhaps?

Think today was a game to give the young man a chance.

We lacked a bit of creativity, something a bit different.

Seems Bielsa doesnt think he is ready, fair enough.

But imo he is wrong, no other youth player has impressed more this year.

Without Pablo we lack creativity at times, he is the u23s Hernandez.
