Still quaint '63
I love Yorkshire but as you know Cornwall, Wales & Northumbria are favourites of mine, I just couldn't live there although if I had a choice of living between those beautiful locations or a city I would choose those three everytime, I enjoy the quiet life

You said to me before 64 that you love my part of the world but couldn’t live there - today a case in point 60mph winds and about 2 inches of rain - thanks to storm Callum ! Only opened the door to let the cats out - silly buggers !

Actually 64 it got a lot better as the day wore on - still very breezy but a balmy 20 degrees, not back for mid-October

Why would you go to Turkey though? 2 of our own got butchered there.......
Personally would never go there, no matter how cheap it is...
I've been to Turkey (Side) once, back in 1989, when perhaps it had a reputation for being a bit below the usual Mediterranean standards that perhaps the British tourist would expect. But to be fair it was a fantastic place - a lovely country and very nice welcoming people.
I understand your point BB, but you can't judge a whole country by the mindless acts of a few.
Just think of the foreign visitors innocently killed in the various London terrorist attacks - would we want to think that the world viewed us as a nation on the basis of the misguided evil actions of a few 'British' national individuals.

Nail on the head Pembs
It's not that we don't suffer bad weather here in the east, just not to the extent you poor souls endure in the west. Hope the wind ceases & it dries up for you all tomorrow

I spent the day marooned on this island in 38 degree sun. Big cool box full of beers and ciders, 1 hour away in between Bahrain and Qatar.
