He was good at Wigan but he wasn't severely tested tbh as were none of our defenders.

I gave Dallas 7/10

Even Sky mentioned how Kal Naismith the Wigan left winger hardly touched the ball.

When Callum McManaman came on Dallas struggled because he was being asked to do something he cant, defend.

If Harvey Barnes gets at Dallas he will beat him everytime.

Ryan Sessegnon rinsed Dallas when Dallas was playing against him at rb last season.

Barnes would do the same.

Sooo got to try and stop Dallas having to defend.
It's like asking Ayling to play centre-back, he was all over the place. Same with Dallas we'll get found out eventually.

Hopefully we'll outscore teams

We are making do as we are vulnerable in certain positions

Round pegs in square holes comes to mind !

Like Phillips in central defence ..sorry not buying this out of position nonsense this season. If we were playing crap football and bottom half we could have this discussion but right now it's absolutely working.

Bielsa has found Phillips niche

Dallas is not a defender or a central midfielder & I'll be stunned if he ever made one at this level

He's already made one ...he's right back for the best team in the division ..sorry correction. right wing back - there's a distinction ...

Imo the style protects players playing out of position.

Dallas is rarely asked to defend because as a team we rarely are defending.

We play on the front foot.

When we do have to defend thats when they struggle.

Philips is no cb,if we played a back 3 with him there and didnt dominate then Philips would look as uncomfortable as Ayling does.

If WBA are allowed to play then Dallas will look as out of place as he is a rb/ rwb.

BPF as a goalie the same, if he was under pressure we would see his deficiencies more like we did vs Swansea for example.

The way we play as a team helps cover for those players playing in the wrong positions imo.

Just got to hope we can dominate WBA.

Bielsa way.

Javi Martinez and Arturo Vidal, two world class cms.

Bielsa played them at cb and wing back.

It worked, world class players can do it.

It works for usso far to a degree because of the style imo.

How many games have we really had to defend for long periods?

Not many, we dominate the ball.

If that changes then we will struggle imo.

Our style covers for players like Dallas at rwb.

But should there be games like WBA could be, where we arent dominating.

Thats when we may see issues imo.

Still recon we will have at least 60% possession and put them on the back foot, of course they will have their moments but this is a must win game for them and their manager and if we can go in level or better at half time then the pressure on them escalates, this game suits us down to the ground and I am a lot more confident playing these rather than a Millwall, Rotherham etc

Some good points by Cjay and Faaip, We have a game plan, the players work to that, not fit our game plan around our players, you’ve seen lesser managers try it, stick to a style, even if they don’t have all the players, square pegs, like 64 says, but we have a Coach and man manager ( even with a language barrier) who can keep faith in his system, he assessed the squad in the summer and felt we have the players.
Dallas has played in a variety of roles, mainly off the bench, Bielsa believes he’s good enough, so I back him. Players will mess up and have big howlers, but that’s the nature of our style now. Players have to adapt, none better than Philips ( for England, but obviously only after he dominates in the same way in the premiership, wearing Leeds white) he’s been our surprise star this year, nobody would have expected this last season, but he got subbed early twice for being a weak link in the system, the way the way was going, point is Bielsa reacts to his mistakes and changes it, even admits them and explains them! So while a player is being picked by him, it’s safe to say they are doing ok ;-)

Good read Chilli

Why not be confident, we're playing so well that you can guarantee we'll win more games than we'll lose & yes we will lose games as every football club does

Hope we are proving the doubters wrong, we are not the soft/erratic team we were last season thanks to Bielsa

What a game to win ! Gives us clear daylight from those outside top 6 and confirms us as real contenders for auto promotion.West Bromwich have some big guns back for this otherwise I'd have said 1-2 but now it's 2-2 .

lets not kid ourselves this will be a real test. forget there current form they will be right up for this make no mistake. .they have some real quality but so do we . if we play to our strengths go at em like derby did i actually think we will win the game. if and if we can get the 3 points tomorrow evenning with two very winnable home games to come there could be a possibility for us to open a slight gap.

Got to cut out the early goals.

Saw we are one of the worst for conceding in the first 15mins i think it was, but one of the best for the last 15.

Not dropped a point after scoring 1st.

Don't think there was anything lucky about the early goals we conceded against Blackburn, Forest or Wigan. A mixture of good delivery and mediocre defending.
