That's It!!!! I'm confused......
As some may know, I don't consider it Xmas until I hear my favourite Xmas song Greg Lake 'I Believe in Father Christmas' last year it took until Xmas eve to hear it......
this year I heard it today in Asda whilst doing the grocery shopping...... So It is offically Xmas here now.....
HOWEVER.....
I also have a summer song, which means that it is not summer until I hear Don Henley 'Boys of Summer'
Got home to unpack the shopping and on the radio ..... you have guessed it..... Don Henly blasting out...
so now I am buggered.... is it Xmas or summer??

So neither Hector
At least over the pond you start Christmas at the right time, the 25th, or some on the 24th. 12th night is January 5th and there's a Christmassy feel for the week up to New Year when Scots do their Hogmanay thing..
Over here it's deemed to be Christmas season the day after Thanksgiving. Springfield Missouri has usually had its Christmas parade at the end of November and there's nothing quite as wonderful as being wished Merry Christmas on November the 26th or similar.
Christmas parties are held many times in the first week or two of December, which many take as the 12 days of Christmas. When Christmas Day is done, all the trimmings come down and it's on to New Years' Eve, January sales, Valentines' Day - and Christmas is firmly in the rear view mirror.

Totally agree that 'I believe in Father Christmas' by Greg Lake is the best ever Christmas song. Brilliant lyrics and very thought provoking.
I play it every Christmas Day morning much to my daughter's annoyance. "Dad this is crap, put Band Aid on"
A real shame that he passed away not so long back.
