Re: Album of 2018 - Nominate Now
It was a toss up between pop or easy listening hector, but then I thought of you and it was obvious which category I was going to choose
Re: Album of 2018 - Nominate Now

Arctic Monkeys 'Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino'
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.

Re: Album of 2018 - Nominate Now
and for my second it's gonna be
Brass Against 'Brass Against'
I hate cover bands in the main but these stand head and shoulders.
One for gessa as I think he's a JA fan

I'm a massive JA fan, and I really like this, very interesting cover and the singer (Maya?) has a great voice

Re: Album of 2018 - Nominate Now
She has ..I prefer Sophia Urista but that's a hell of a voice I agree. the guy on the Sax who looks a bit like Henry Rollins is responsible for some stunning arrangement

Re: Album of 2018 - Nominate Now
Think I'm going to have to jettison Yellow6. Can't really see where it will fit in and I don't want to get rid of any of my other choices. In fairness, it's not likely to garner many votes anyway.
Re: Album of 2018 - Nominate Now
I will, however, add the fantastic 'Devotion' by Tirzah as a nominee for the FOLK/SINGER/SONGWRITER/COUNTRY category.

Re: Album of 2018 - Nominate Now
I see Gandi has three in the soundtrack section ...no problem with that and in that case please add
Still Corners 'Slow Air'
to whatever category you think fit, it's labelled electro pop but I've no idea

Re: Album of 2018 - Nominate Now
Pop/Rock
Confidence Man - Confident Music for Confident People
Solo/Folk
Adrianne Lenker - abysskiss
Ex:Re - Ex:Re
Electronic/World
fishdoll - Noonsense
Bokanté and Metropole Orkest - What Heat
Live
Bloc Party - Silent Alarm (Live)
Where would a compilation go? It's a collection of various jazz artists from London on the label We Out Here...
Some great records already nominated - Kamasi Washington a particular highlight in there.
