I'd go Davis and it's wing back, we haven't played with full backs in a while

In Ellandbacks 352 it would be Harrison I'd imagine

Yes it is our problem position.
Was it three goals v Brum that came down our left? Plus Saturday..
Dallas, at the moment.
Gives us far more shape and remember how well he babysat Bowen when we played Hull.
I havent seen enough of Davis to comment though.

Ali!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Davis has hardly played, minutes amount to two games, hardly a good sample size., He would give us even less height (Ali rarely gets the credit he deserves for the amount of headers he wins) and Ali and Harrison have a good understanding.
Dallas, people have short memories, much improved this season but he has never been very good defensively and it takes a very talented player to be able to play full back not on his natural side (that isnt Dallas), should be right back. People ise the 2nd leg as justification but he won praise for trying hard and scoring, not his defending.
Douglas doesnt suit the style, lacks the pace to play full back in this style imo.

I wonder who has voted for Alioski
Re: Left-Back is still Bielsa's problem position....
We were keeping clean sheets when Dallas played LB, we're not any more CjayCjay wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 6:09 pm Ali!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Berardi is better on the right & as a CB.
Douglas is too slow.
Alioski gets caught out of position far too many times & he's not a good tackler.
I really believe Leif Davis has a big career in front of him & until I saw Dallas play there I'd have gone for Davis.
Since Dallas was taken out of our back four we haven't kept a clean sheet, in fact we are leaking far too many goals of late. Stuart is also capable of popping up with goals & his experience is essential now to tighten up our defence. If Dallas is injured, Davis has to be given a chance.

Re: Left-Back is still Bielsa's problem position....
We all feared Bowen but Dallas didn't give JB a second on the ball
Re: Left-Back is still Bielsa's problem position....
Ipswich 3-2 Dallas left back
Derby 4-2 Dallas left back
Luton 2-1 win Dallas left back
Blackburn 2-1 Dallas left back
Cardiff and Fulham to both scored when Dallas was left back.
Dallas was left back end of last season remember and the heavens opened.
Right back he is good, left back the playoff 2nd leg (when we conceded 4) has clouded peoples judgement imo.
Ali was getting a lot of praise not long ago and was part of the defence that kept about half of our clean sheets.
Dallas was right back when we kept clean sheets, not left.

So you've ignored our seven match unbeaten run when we were keeping clean sheets & gone back to last season (in the main)Cjay wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 6:51 pm Ipswich 3-2 Dallas left back

Fulham were given a penalty that was never a pen.
Poor substitutions from Marcelo & our team collectively cost us the goals v Cardiff, especially our keeper & CB's.
At Birmingham Ali got murdered down that left-flank.
Taken off half-time at West Brom as he was woeful
Was caught out of position at least three times in the 35 minutes he was on v Sheff Wed
Alioski is definitely NOT a defender, probably our worst player defensively
I'll fear for us if he starts at Loftus Road
Re: Left-Back is still Bielsa's problem position....
Oh & guess who came on & was down that flank when we conceded two goals in four minutes?
I rest my case!

Plus Dallas really not to blame for the Derby debacle, that was down to Cooper and Casilla not being on the same page or we win that 1-0

We havent kept a clean sheet since Hull (where admittedly Dallas did well vs Bowen).1964white wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 7:02 pm So you've ignored the recent form when we were keeping clean sheets & gone back to last season (in the main)

Ali was left wing vs Cardiff, Dallas was always left back.
I stand by what i said.
Aside from Hull and Derby 1st leg, Dallas has only been in the team and kept a clean sheet at right back.
Ali has kept at least 5 just this season alone.
In poor form atm but so are the whole team.
Dallas right backand Ali left back.

Is it?
I thought it was our poor quality forwards
Our inability to defend set pieces
Our lack of height
Our mental fragility
Our lack of depth
