LUFC Favorites To Win The Championship Next Year

Post by YorkshireSquare »

All things considered, 2018/19 wasn’t that bad of a season for Leeds United after all. It would’ve been much better if the Whites managed to get promoted to the Premiership, but it is what it is. If any Leeds fan at the beginning of the 2018/19 would’ve been offered to have the club in the play-offs at the end of the season, they would’ve grabbed the deal with both hands, even if it meant losing and not qualifying in the end.

Most fans would’ve guessed that the club would’ve finished the season somewhere midtable, but the season was a lot more successful than that. Actually, Leeds United are now first favourites to win the Championship and to win promotion next year. The odds for Leeds to win the Championship are set at 8 to 1 and the Whites are tied with Fulham who are coming back to the Championship following a short spell in the Premier.

The odds for Leeds to secure a promotion to the Premier are 5 to 2 and actually better than the odds for Fulham to win a promotion (3/1). And if they managed to win reach the playoffs in a season when nobody hoped they might, will they managed to finally reach the Premier in the upcoming season, when everybody expects them to. We’re not saying it’s going to be easy, it never is, with 24 teams and 46 matches, it takes a lot of hard work. As fans of Leeds, we would certainly hope for one of two positions that would lead the team straight to the Premier, instead of having to go through the horror of play-offs once again.

We know that Bielsa will remain manager in the next season and, for many, that’s all they need to know. Let us also mention the fact that our team had some terrible luck with injuries last season, with Alioski, Roofe and Douglas being away for quite a while due to injuries. If Bielsa buys one or two quality players during the summer transfer window and manages to keep the current crop of quality players, promotion will become a reality.

We had an interesting piece on Bielsa and the effect that he has on our current players in just one season, perhaps you will find it an interesting read. The title includes a question mark – Playing devil’s advocate, is Bielsa the right man for the job?, but we think that the answer is quite clear.

In the meantime, there will be some national matches during the summer, but overall, there won’t be a lot of footballing action, so if you’re looking for something thrilling to do, perhaps you can have a look at the SlotsWise selection of slots, you’ll find some pretty exciting titles, including football-themed slots.
