Bristol City 0
Leeds United 3 (Snodgrass 40, McCormack 79, Becchio 93)

Neil Redfearn had academy goalkeeping coach Andy Leaning and Andy O'Brien beside him in the dugout for his first game in charge of the first team. He made two changes to the team with Pugh replacing Townsend and Adam Smith replacing Thompson. USA international Robbie Rodgers was also named on the bench for the first time.

Bristol had most of the possession and chances in the first half but it was Leeds who went in at half time on top. First of all Rob Snodgrass drove the ball low into the back of the net from the edge of the penalty area after good build up play from Ross McCormack on 40 minutes. Then four minutes later James Wilson was sent off after a foul on McCormack.

Early in the second half Bristol saw themselves reduced to nine men. Yannick Bolasie was booked for unsporting behaviour on 55 minutes then a minute later received his second yellow for a challenge on Adam Smith.

Leeds began to make the numerical advantage count with more possession and more chances. Ross McCormack settled Leeds fans nerves on 79 minutes scoring from just inside the area after an assist from Adam Clayton. Luciano Becchio slotted home from inside the six yard box on 93 minutes to secure the victory.

Perhaps another average performance masked by red cards but I suppose the three points and the confidence boosting win is all that matters. Onwards and upwards.
