Redfearn's Honeymoon Period Over

Redfearn himself also talked a good game, his views about good defending, clean sheets and keeping a tighter shape also hit accord with the fans and seemed to address some of the frailties of recent performances under Grayson. The Chairman then came out in full praise of the new man declaring his start to be impressive and stating he would be in charge of the first team for at least the next three games.
This weekend saw Redfearn's second interview against Brighton, a tougher task watched by the expectant Elland Road crowd. Surely with another week on the training pitch, thinks could only be better? We started the game well, there were clear signs that a lot of work had been done at Thorp Arch. The shape of the team was much more compact, we were playing in nice triangles making sure there was always an option on, always someone to pass to which has not always been the case this season.
That said though there was little penetration, with Becchio playing much deeper and Snodgrass shadowed by two markers there was little real threat to the Brighton goal. In the end it was the same mistakes that cost us the points, poor marking and sloppy defending. Redfearn was criticised by some fans for not changing things earlier but he was in the same situation as Grayson against Birmingham. Turning round to look at the Bench there was no real options for positive change.
So tonight can Redfearn win back out hearts? Coventry look a depleted side with Richard Wood and Sammy Clingan limping off during their defeat to Reading on the weekend and with them firmly rooted to the bottom of the table Leeds should expect a result tonight. There were some encouraging signs on Saturday but failure to learn from previous errors and mistakes may signify that there is much more than a fresh face in the dressing room is required. New ideas, a news ethos, someone with a proven track record may be what we need now.
Current odds for next LUFC manager McCarthy at 2/1, Redfearn 4/1, Bruce 6/1, Warnock 7/1.
