The signing of 24 year old central defender Jason Pearce from Portsmouth is a good start to the new managers rebuilding. In an area which has certainly been problematic in recent seasons we have bought a young, talented and well regarded player. Previously club captain at Bournemouth where he made 162 appearances he won their player of the season award in 2011 before moving to Portsmouth for a fee f £500,000. Again he took up the responsibility of captain and won their payer of the season award in 2012.
With the number of departures announced earlier this week there will need to be a large number of signings made in preparation for next season. Neil Warnock has already announced his intentions to bring in players as soon as possible sighting the late signing of players as a key reason for QPR’s failures this season. It is important that the new players are brought in quickly so that they have time to gel into a team and have a good pre-season ahead of a push for promotion next season.
So far so good, let’s hope the manager and chairman stay true to their word and do the deals.
