Leeds United 3
(Cooper 9, Doukara 31, Antenucci 42),
Blackpool 1 (Ranger 75)

Neil Redfearn's gained his first win as permanent Leeds United manager on Saturday after a sublime first half performance. Blackpool may be propping up the Championship table but that should not take away from Leeds United performance as they went in three nil up at the break.

This of course is Redfearn's fourth win of the season in charge but his first after getting the job on a full time basis will give him and the team much needed confidence, ending a run of 8 consecutive games without a win. The Leeds manager commented "I thought we were excellent in the first half, some of the movement and the passing was different class. That was as good as I've seen them play. It could have been anything. It wasn't just the pressure, it was good football culminating in three goals."

The second half was a different affair, Blackpool played higher up the pitch and Leeds didn't sit back so much as played without the confidence and percision of the first half. Redfearn himself said "The second half was a damp squib but the result was the main thing and that came off the back of a good first half." The win was what was important though and a vital 3 points take Leeds up to 15th in the Championship table. Here are the views of some of our members;

A first half of sublime attacking football played with high intensity, 3-0 at half-time flattered the Seasiders who looked a very poor outfit. Blackpool had no answer to attacking skills as we powered forward with one move after another, it could easily have been six if we had made more of our opportunities. Every player played his part in the first half as we cracked in three superb goals. Our second goal will probably be one of the best team goals of the season with Byram picking up the ball on the edge of the box, a wonderful weighted pass from the influential Adyran to Doukara & the ball was finely strucked into the net, a fine goal on the break.

Into the 2nd half the game changed into a messy affair especially after Adyran (who had been clobbered a couple of times) was subbed for the less effective Austin, what is it with Rudi he does some good things then spoils it with some horrible play. Tonge came on for the crippled Bianchi & we seem to struggle even more. Another poor goal conceded as we allowed Ranger to score from a free header on goal. To be fair their goal was the only one on target throughout the whole game. Three well deserved points in the end.

First half was superb, we would have waited forever under Darko to see that much energy, intensity and positive play. Thank goodness those shouting for a longer reign were not listened to, Redders P7 W4 D2 L1. Enough said?

Byram and Warnock excellent and Cooper showing for my money why he's the best centre half at the club. The 2nd was a great and true 'team goal', Doukara does have that habit of just passing it into the corner of the net! Cook was immense.

Second half tailed off a little but we were organised on the whole and created what looked like a gilt edged chance for Doukara to make it 4. Blackpool are in all kinds of bother.

Brilliant result. Should've had more goals to be honest. Some players fluffing shots but can't complain. Beat the bottom dwellers which if we had lost we may have had a revolt. First half incredible. Dominated completely. Second half started off slow bit picked up until we picked up a few injuries. I can't wait until this team have learnt each others game completely. Adryan is a breath of fresh air and once he can last 90 minutes we'll reap the benefits. Oh. And South stand sounded great as expected. Made so much noise today!!
