Who Could Leeds Sign in Winter Window to Help Playoffs Push?

Leeds United made an explosive start to the 2017/18 Championship season, even topping the table in mid-September, but after a dramatic slump in form, they now find themselves outside the playoff places. Boss Thomas Christiansen has managed to steady the ship in the last few games, winning two of their last three to keep in touching distance of the top six, but the cracks and leaks are still obvious for fans to see.
The January transfer window couldn't come sooner for the Whites, who may be forced to bring in even more players despite their huge haul of summer signings. But who could help Leeds, who are currently 7/2 in the Championship top-six finish football betting, in their quest to finally return to the Premier League if the new owners are willing to splash out again?
Read on as we pick out potential signings for the famous Yorkshire side this winter window...
Goals may not be an immediate issue for Leeds right now, as only three teams above them in the league have scored more than them this season and they have netted in each of their last eight fixtures in all competitions. However, with loanee Pierre-Michel Lassoga having missed most of November through injury, they'll need extra cover for the rest of the season.
Ezgjan Alioski, Samu Saiz and Kalvin Phillips have all done well to chip in with five goals apiece, but reports suggest that Christiansen could raid Germany for a striker again, this time St Pauli's Marvin Ducksch. The 23-year-old is currently smashing in the goals whilst on loan with Holstein Keil in Bundesliga 2.
Having started out at Borussia Dortmund, he certainly has plenty of pedigree, though Leeds would face competition for his signature.
While Leeds have been strong in attack, defence is certainly where they have lacked this term, leaking 24 goals in their first 19 games. They have certainly left to rue letting Rob Green go to Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town in the summer, with neither Andy Lonergan nor Felix Wiedwald impressing the Elland Road faithful.
They may want to find a short-term fix for the rest of the season with an experienced stopper such as West Bromwich Albion's Boaz Myhill. With nearly 200 Championship and over 100 Premier League appearances under his belt over the years, Leeds can't go much wrong with the 35-year-old.
Currently, Myhill is warming the bench, with Ben Foster the firm number one, and he could fancy a loan move back to Yorkshire, after previously spending the majority of his career at Hull City.
Left back is another area Leeds must strengthen in, after having to say goodbye to Charlie Taylor in the summer. Replacements simply haven't done the job, and there may be a player available on loan at nearby Huddersfield.
Scott Malone may have signed for the PL new boys in the summer, but has not had the playing time he would've liked. After previously impressing for Millwall, Cardiff and Fulham in the Championship, Christiansen should seriously consider his services.
