Preston v Leeds Utd

Tuesday 22nd October 2019 19.45 | Deepdale

Leeds travel to neighbouring Lancashire on Tuesday evening to play promotion rivals Preston at Deepdale. The Lilywhites currently occupy the last play off place with 21 points, two less than Leeds. Preston have scored 23 goals; more than any other Championship team. Their downfall is their defence. They have conceded 13 times, almost double the number Leeds have relinquished.

Leeds will be looking to build on their 1-0 victory over Birmingham at the weekend, and currently occupy second place, two points behind the Baggies. Although Leeds can't be criticised for their work rate, their natural game did not flow. They did not look like scoring until Harrison took advantage of a Birmingham playing slipping over, passing the ball to Philips who fired the ball past Camp. Marcelo Bielsa confirmed he will start with the same side that beat Birmingham on Saturday, Pablo Hernandez is likeley to miss the game with a hamstring injury picked up on his comeback game for the U23s. It means Leeds will remain with one up top but with Bamford and Nketiah individually drawing blanks again is it time for Bielsa to sacrifice a midfielder and play both forwards together?

Having watched highlights, Ben White has the best chance of the whole game.

Should have buried that.

For he's own good as well as the team's, yes Gessa. The fans have backed him to date but I fear things will change rapidly if he continues to start to and just go through the motions like he did on Tuesday night.

Absolutely has to be dropped. Its one thing believing that he will come good but in the meantime its actually cruel putting him through this now and Bielsa should realise it. I think PB would totally understand and may even prefer to be dropped to clear his head, with banging it up that brick wall for so long it must be rattling inside there now !
