Unai Emery cools Nketiah speculation

Good Morning. It's Tuesday 22nd October, and here are the Leeds Utd headlines...

Sky blue third kit a popular choice (in the blue side of Manchester)

Leeds United have revealed an unusual outfit as their third kit! The sky blue kit features the traditional blue, yellow and white bar stripe on the waistband and the sock knee trim, which is sure to make this kit a fan’s favourite. Leeds United 1919-2019’ is embossed on the back of the shirt in recognition of the club’s centenary season. The kit has been especially popular the Blue side of Manchester.

Bielsa compares Bamfords performance with Nketiah's

At the Preston Pre match press conference Bielsa was asked whether he saw a noticeable difference in performance when substituting Bamford for Nketiah for the second half of the Birmingham game. He replied...
The performance of both of them was quite similar. We played better in the first half than in the second one and when the team play better, the centre forward takes advantage of that situation and Nketiah has played in the moment where the team decreased a little bit in performance and playing in those conditions is a little bit more difficult to try to make an impact. For me, the way they played was quite similar, on the same level.

Arsenal Manager Unai Emery - Now is not the moment (for Nketiah)

Arsenal Manager Unai Emery was asked the question at the weekend whether he was concerned about the lack of game time Nketiah was getting at Elland Road. He replied...
Now is not the moment, we are in October. He is in Leeds and I respect the coach and his decision.

Firstly I respect his coach and his decision. I think he is going to play more. He is going to deserve it. Each match he plays with Leeds and the national team is important for him and important for Arsenal also because we want him to get confidence and take experience and use it in the future for us.

He is doing it. He is maybe playing less than we want, but I am sure he will play more.

Now if I were Bielsa I would drop both Bamford and Nketiah. Take the two strikers off and flood the team with midfielders and wingers... Costa Roberts Gotts Klich Hernandez Dallas Harrison.

Now that would really give the press something to talk about. After all any goals we do score are not coming from our strikers so they are a waste of time. Goals are more likely to come from the wingback or a defensive midfielder, so let's dispense with the services of Paddy and Eddie. We could have them on the pitch at half time with pompoms and blonde wigs doing a dance routine to entertain the fans... yes the press could really go to town on that, and Bielsa could do a striptease on top of his bucket, whilst Radrizzani marches along the touchline with a bucket full of fivers which he throws into the crowd like confetti.

It is not enough for the press that Leeds play beautiful football they need to brew up a storm in a teacup and invent drama where none exists.

Morning All,

I actually like the new 3rd kit, I might well purchase the shirt.
I see the press are still trying to stir up the 'lack of playing time' for Eddie story.
They were getting nowhere with Bielsa so they're now trying to get Emery to say he's not happy with the situation.
Come back in January chaps and you might actually have something to write about.
Personally I think he will stay with us for the whole season particularly if we remain in the promotion chase.
Ditto that Chilli I quite like the new Shirt

Said it on here before Bambi maybe working his socks off (so did Millwall Morrison) but his main job is scoring goals and he ain’t doing that, Eddie scores for the U23s and England so should be getting to start games now

Love the fact Arsenal are playing and all the press want to talk about is Leeds

I've not seen a single game this season where I could honestly say Bamford was important to that performance...I believe we'd have more points and goals had Nketiah played the minutes Paddy has but it's not provable of course..

Paddy reminds me a lot of the vilified Billy Paynter at the minute
Out of the games I have seen (only the televised ones) I'd say the West Brom game he was. He worked his socks off that game and gave their defenders as good as he got.

Morning Faaip

Its so much easier for an opposition Manager to prepare, when you know what your opposition are going to do!

Bielsa has to mix it up. We are not the Leeds Utd of the 90's. We are not that good. Individually Bielsa has many of the players playing to capacity, but he need to switch tactics and swap players depending on who we play.

One thing all our opposition do better than Leeds Utd, is to defend in numbers. We need two front men to give our opponents fear.
