Man Utd fans deluded if they think Marcelo Bielsa would move to Old Trafford

I’m sure supporters of plenty of other clubs think Leeds fans are an entitled lot, but I don’t think we really are. We’ve had periods where we were flying high, winning cups and titles and competing at the top of European football. But we’ve had plenty of lows too and spent nearly half of our 100 year existence outside of the top flight. Leeds fans don’t think we have a right to be in the Premiership, we don’t expect to win all the time, we just desire a team that shows the passion and commitment that us as fans demonstrate on a weekly basis. It helps that everyone else hates us too, it makes being Leeds special, other people don’t “get” what it is to be Leeds, but we do.
Those ups and downs ground us, it means when we do experience those highs we experience them to the full. Limbs and bodies everywhere, bruised shins, the “flying Leeds fan”, finding yourself ten rows forward in the ecstasy of a ninetieth minute winner. It’s in stark contrast to our old foe across the Pennines. Twenty-one years of success has made Manchester United fans one of the most entitled bunch of supporters in world football, and now things aren’t going their way they are spitting the dummy in spectacular fashion. Sat fifth in the Premier League they are protesting about their owners and vice-chairman despite them having spent £1 Billion in the seven years since Alex Ferguson left.
Now, just like the spoilt brats they are they’ve seen something shiny and they want it for themselves. Leeds United may have been knocked out of the FA Cup by Arsenal but their first half domination at The Emirates proved what a good coach can do. Marcelo Bielsa’s side dominated possession, pressed Arsenal and carved out chance after chance playing the kind of one touch, passing football that most Manchester United fans wish their team were capable of playing. Who needs £1 Billion to waste on supposed stars when your head coach can make Stuart Dallas look like Kylian Mbappé.
The clamour for Bielsa to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjær started that night on social media that night and has continued ever since, “Excruciating to watch. No Poch, no Allegri, nobody else. Go to Leeds and beg Bielsa to come to United”, and it has been stirred up again in recent days by TalkSport’s Tony Cascarino…
I'd have Bielsa over Pochettino every day of the week. Look at what he's changed at Leeds. Pochettino was a very good manager at Spurs. He's done an incredible job. But I'm talking about style of play. Remember, Pochettino is a disciple of Bielsa and the way he plays.
But if any Manchester United fan really believes that Marcelo Bielsa would take the Old Trafford job they are even more entitled and overindulged than I thought. Purity of football is what excited Marcelo Bielsa, he’s much more about playing the game in pure, exciting way which will entertain the fans. He’s less about winning and glory, more about the passion and the entertainment. The joy he has found in English football comes much more from the Championship and League One rather than the commercialised, sanitised Premier League. Something their club embodies more than any other.
The same man that pays his own fines and donates the majority of his wage to his former club, Newell's Old Boys, is not the same man that abandons a project for the financial lure Manchester United can offer. I said before that other don’t “get” what it’s about to be a Leeds United fan, but Marcelo Bielsa seems to get it. He understands what this club and this city are about and it resonates with him. There is no way he would sell his soul to the “Red Devils” and if they believe he would for a second they are an even more entitled bunch than I thought they were.
