Good Morning. Its Thursday 5th March, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road...
Ian Poveda to return to the first team squad?
Winger Ian Poveda was one of this January’s big signings but Leeds fans have yet so see him get any minutes on the pitch. Although Poveda is clearly one for the future, coming from Manchester City who play in a similar style with a similar intensity it was thought he would be able to fit into the first team almost immediately. Speaking about Poveda shortly after his signing Stuart Dallas was clearly impressed…
He’s quick. He’s fast and direct. I’ve never seen a player take to a group so quick. He’s lively, he’s taken really well to the lads. It’s nice to welcome new faces. We did the murderball on Thursday or Friday and I was up against him. I found out how quick he was. He’s skilful, with two good feet.
With LUTV footage of Poveda working on fitness with the senior squad ahead of this weekends game against Huddersfield could we expect him to return to the bench? Could Poveda offer us something different for the run and more importantly help to keep key first team players such as Harrison and Costa fit?
How much of Tyler Roberts will we see on Saturday?
Tyler Roberts impressed in his 25 minute cameo scoring two goals against Hull. In his brief spell on the pitch Roberts showed the kind of movement and finishing Leeds have lacked up top in recent weeks. He also put in the hard yards defensively making several key tackles and clearances. But how much are we likely to see of Roberts this weekend?
He has had well known injury issues and Bielsa will be keen to protect the young striker somewhat. He also scored his goals against a tired, demoralised Hull side after the hard work had already been done. Bielsa will undoubtedly start Bamford on Saturday but do you think Roberts should get more than the 25 minutes he was given last weekend?
