When the 2019-20 EFL Championship restarts on Saturday 20 June Leeds United will resume in top spot, one point above West Bromwich Albion and seven clear of Fulham in third. Marcelo Bielsa’s side had been on a five-game winning streak without conceding a single goal during this run when football in England was suspended on 13 March.

The Whites’ season resumes with a televised trip to Cardiff City on Sunday 21 June with the Welsh side only two points outside of the play-off spots with nine games to play. Who knows what will happen, particularly in the opening weekend with each of the 24 clubs having been out of action for more than three months.

The Championship is unpredictable as it is so you’ll probably find the free vegas slots a more predictable game than next weekend’s football. Indeed, only Leeds United away to Cardiff City and West Brom’s home game against rivals Birmingham City represent teams who are odds on with the bookmakers for the first weekend of games, such is the unpredictable nature.

Leeds have a few high-profile fixtures to finish their season with after their visit to the Bluebirds, with Fulham (home), Swansea City (away) and Derby County (away) all still to come. In order for the Yorkshire club to get across the finish line and finally regain their Premier League status this summer they could do with their top players hitting form immediately as Bielsa has been working with a small squad this campaign.

Here are three players who have been key to Leeds being top of the table:

1) Kalvin Phillips

Converted from a box-to-box midfielder into an out-and-out holding midfielder under the Argentine manager, Kalvin Phillips has been a huge success sitting in front of the back four. Leeds have the best defensive record in the league, conceding just 30 goals in 37 games; three better than the next best club, Brentford.

Phillips has been excellent at breaking up possession of the opposition, mostly with his strong challenges. But the 24-year-old also has a good range of passing to get his side on the front foot.

Prior to Kalvin Phillips and Leeds getting back on the pitch, fans can enjoy free casino games between now and then. In fact, those games are available all year round.

2) Jack Harrison

As well as a top defence, only three teams have outscored Leeds United in the Championship so far this season. They may have had even more but for Patrick Bamford missing numerous good opportunities this season. One of the keys for them has come down the left wing with Jack Harrison.

The English winger is on loan from Manchester City for a second consecutive season where he has teamed up well with both Ezgjan Alioski and Stuart Dallas supporting from full-back. Formerly a star at the New York Red Bulls in the MLS, Harrison has five goals and seven assists. As mentioned previously, the latter stat could have been even higher.

Jack Harrison likes to run at full-backs and generally cause havoc for opposition defences. Now 23 years old and with no reasonable chance of knocking Raheem Sterling or Leroy Sane out of Pep Guardiola’s side, Leeds may try to make the move permanent in the summer, particularly if they are successful in their promotion bid.

3) Ben White

Leeds United have been very successful in the loan market this campaign as star centre-back Ben white is on a single season deal from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion. The 22-year-old has had previous loan spells in the lower divisions with Newport County and Peterborough United but hasn’t looked out of depth at all in the Championship.

Standing at 6’1”, White has been a rock at the back for the Championship’s best defence, picking off passes in and around his own penalty area, blocking shots and getting his foot in. Whether Marcelo Bielsa and co look to make the move permanent over the summer remains to be seen and could well depend on what division both Leeds and Brighton are playing in next season.
