A farewell message from Ben White?

The loss of Pontus Jansson this summer was a big deal for Leeds United fans, but Victor Orta and Marcelo Bielsa knew what they were doing. Ben White had already been brought in as his replacement. Composed on the ball, plays it out from the back, as robust a centre half you'll find, he if perfect to play in Marcelo Bielsa's system. Despite this there were concerns that White had only played League One and Two football before, concerns quickly alleviated by White as he put in great performance after great performance. White is the only player to have played every minute in the league for Leeds this season.
The best centre half at the club since Radebe and Ferdinand? His performances certainly justify the claim and was voted the clubs Young player of the Season last week. With his loan deal now up, Brighton manager Graham Potter adamant White has a part to play at the the Amex next season and rumoured interest from top clubs including Liverpool could we have seen the last of Ben White in a Leeds shirt? Concerns only heightened today when the young defender took to Instagram to thank the Lees United fans for everything this season…
Having had some time to reflect on what has been the most incredible season I wanted to take the time to thank everyone associated with Leeds United Football Club, including the incredible supporters. No matter what happens from here I will never forget the way yo took me in and treated me as one of your own from day one. These memories and experiences will be with me forever. #MOT
A goodbye message? Too early to tell. There is no doubt that the Leeds supporters and management alike would love to keep Ben White at Elland Road but his value will have soared thanks to his amazing performances in a title winning side this season. The next few weeks will be full of negotiation and counter negotiations but given White’s experiences at Leeds, his friendship with Kalvin Phillips and Tyler Roberts and Brighton’s abundance of centre backs don’t rule out him pulling on the white shirt of Leeds United again next season just yet.
