The wait is finally over and Leeds have returned to the Premier league for the first time, since back in 2004. It really has been a rise to the top again for Leeds, who now appear to be a real force, with big things expected for this new Premier league season. Many predications are that they will be finishing in the top half of the table and at present this can be supported at 2/1 with most firms. This has led to activity in the Illinois sports betting markets, who are now looking to become more involved in UK sports, such as the Premier league. This on top of the traditional US markets, such as horse racing and American football.

This support for Leeds appears an attractive proposition, based on how impressive they were last season and the additions they have made to the squad. On top of this, Manager Marcelo Bielsa is rated very highly amongst his peers.

Leeds have been active in the transfer window, continuing to add to the side. This includes bringing on the likes of Robin Koch, Helder Costa and Rodrigo. The latter is joining from Valencia in Spain and will be expected to play a major role this season, having signed for £27 million. There are now also rumours that Julian Draxler could be joining the club, and this would be a massive signing for the side, if he were to join from PSG.

Leeds of course progressed into the Premier league, following winning the Championship title last season. They went into the season as the favourites for the title, following finishing third the previous season. Leeds had picked up 83 points back in the 2018/19 season and improved to an incredible 93 last year. The side finishing having won 28 matches, drew nine and lost nine from their 46 matches played. It meant they finished 10 points clear of second placed West Brom. On top of this, Leeds also scored 77 goals and conceded just 35. It resulted in a memorable season for Leeds, who were the dominant force of the Championship. This is why there is now so much expectation for them to now build on this and finishing in a promising position in the Premier league this upcoming season.

Leeds are also a general 12/1 to finish in the top six, putting them ahead of the likes of Southampton, West Ham and Brighton. It really is a great time at present to be a Leeds fan and it will now be fascinating to see how they perform, as they have finally returned back into the Premier league. Leeds have started with a defeat to champions Liverpool but this was a very positive performance and further added to their stock this season.
