Good Morning. It's Thursday 11th February, and her are the latest headlines from Elland Road…
Is now the time for Crysencio Summerville?
The sight of Raphinha limping off against Leicester City after 80 minutes caused a fair bit of anxiety amongst Leeds United fans. With the treatment room already pretty busy it wasn’t great to see our best player departing the field, especially not considering the options on the bench. Helder Costa was a near constant in the side last season but he has failed to find any form this season and Ian Poveda is out himself having picked up an injury for the Under 23s. Could it be time to get a loot at Crysencio Summerville?
Summerville joined from ADO Den Haag where he played in the Eredivisie 21 times last season. Whilst he has not had a chance in the first team this season, he has been impressing for Mark Jacksons Under 23 side. He has electrifying pace, is capable of dazzling and embarrassing full-backs in equal measure. His performances for the U23s have been impeccable and if there was ever a chance for Bielsa to unleash him, it has to be now with Poveda out injured and Costa out of form.
Would you like to see Summerville on the bench against Arsenal?
Permanent deal for Jack Harrison?
There has been much talk of Jack Harrison finally putting pen to paper on a permanent deal at Leeds United this summer. Now halfway through his third season on loan from Manchester City, the 24 year old winger has indicated that he believes the wheels are in motion to get the deal done some the end of the season. It is believed Leeds have the option to sign the winger from Man City for £10million in the summer.
Often criticised for his end product, Harrison has improved every season he has been at Leeds. In 83 Championship performances he racked up 10 goals and 11 assists but already has 6 goals and 4 assists in 21 Premier League appearances. His impressive strikes in both games against Newcastle and against West Brom mean Harrison is having his very own goal of the season competition! Would you get the deal done this summer? At £10 million for one of the best wingers in the league is this nearly as good a deal as £17 million for Raphinha?

The next unpolished gem on Victor Orta’s radar?
Italian newspaper TuttoSport have claimed that Leeds United are battling Leicester City and German club Eintracht Frankfurt for AC Milan midfielder Tommaso Pobega as he continues to shine on loan at Serie A side Spezia. Pobega, a two-time Italy Under-21 international, joined Spezia in the summer on a season loan and has scored three goals and made two assists in Spezia’s fight against relegation. He is rated between £8.75 million and £10.5 million.
The midfielder has been deployed mostly in the middle by manger Vincenzo Italiano, featuring in central and defensive midfield roles. His versatility has made him quite the secret weapon for Italiano. Arguably his most notable outing was his recent performance off the bench against a tough Napoli side. He won a penalty for his side and then went on to score the game-winner, all while Spezia were down to ten men. As Pobega continues to develop at Spezia, it is becoming evident that the Italian midfielder can be influential both offensively and defensively. All while being sound with the ball at his feet, with decent passing ability.
Does Pobega sound like the kind of player Leeds need? At £10 million could he be another unpolished gem on Victor Orta’s radar?
