Friday 19th February 8.00pm | Molineux Stadium
Leeds travel down to the Black Country on Friday evening, hoping to bounce back from last weekends defear to Arsenal. Nuno Espirito Santo's side fought back from 1-0 down at St Mary's Stadium last Sunday to leave the South Coast with all three points. This leaves Leeds one place, and two points above Wolves in the top flight, with a game in hand. Bielsa's side currently occupy 11th place, having picked up 32 points from their 23 games. Wolves have won their last four games against Leeds, including a 1-0 win at Elland Road earlier in the season when Raul Jimenez’s 70th minute shot took a cruel deflection off Kalvin Phillips. The Whites have won 10 Premier League games this term, one fewer than the champions Liverpool.
Kalvin Phillips and Rodrigo have both been ruled out of tonight's mid table Premiership clash at the Molineux whilst Gaetano Berardi, Adam Forshaw, Ian Poveda and Robin Koch all remain sidelined. Diego Llorente has returned to training and he is available for selection and will start on the bench. Ever present Mateusz Klich, who played against the Gunners with a hip injury, has recovered and will keep his place in midfield alongside Tyler Roberts. Pascal Struijk starts, but is it alongside Liam Cooper in defence or in the defensive midfield role? Jamieshackleton also keeps his place, where he plays will be dependant on where Struijk starts. Stuart Dallas looks to revert to left wing back position, with the unenviable role of marking Wolves power house Adama Traore.
Wolves will be without the services of Daniel Podence, Willy Boly and Jimenez as Nuno Espírito Santo's team are looking to complete the double for the first time this season! Wolves have won their past four league matches against Leeds, scoring nine goals and conceding just once. They are unbeaten in the eight most recent top-flight home meetings, winning five and drawing three. Wolves have won twice in three league matches, as many victories as they had in their previous 14 attempts. Wolves haven't opened the scoring in any of their past 14 league fixtures. Ruben Neves has scored four goals in seven Premier League appearances in 2021, having failed to find the net in his 34 league games last year.
Leeds are one victory shy of 200 in the Premier League. They have only kept one clean sheet in their past seven league matches. Leeds have won six of their past seven Premier League away matches played outside London. Patrick Bamford has scored six goals in five appearances for Leeds on a Friday. Eight of Bamford's 12 Premier League goals this season have come away.
