Good Morning. It's Friday 10th September, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road...

Huddersfield turned down £13m from Leeds for star

Huddersfield Town chairman Phil Hodgkinson has disclosed that they turned down four offers from Leeds for midfielder Lewis O'Brien. The 22yo had been on Bielsa's wish list for most of the Summer, and with only twelve months left on his contract and the cost of Covid running into tens of millions, you'd imagine the dog botherer's would play ball.

According to Hodgkinson, the last offer they turned down from Leeds was 13 m; a far cry from the £5m reported from various media outlets. How can an unproved Championship player, in the final year of his contract, be worth upwards of £14 or £15 million? I'm pretty sure the Whites would have been criticised, had they secured O'Brien's signature for such a sum!

Do Leeds stand a chance on Sunday

It's been a turbulent start to our campaign, and it won't get an easier on Sunday when Jurgen Klopp's men come knocking. Are Leeds in for another hiding, or do they stand a chance to cause a giant upset to the Merseyside team?

Liverpool are currently 5th in the table. They dispatched Burley and Norwich with ease, but were held to a 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Anfield just under a fortnight ago! It's games like this that frustrates me. Bielsa's boys are not capable of going toe to toe with the Reds, yet the gaffer will not change the tactics accordingly to make us more difficult to break down!

Are you filled with dread, or quietly optimistic?

You can't do the same thing, hoping to do it better when you're facing a top side! I know we went toe to toe with Liverpool, Citeh, Chelsea, Leicester, Spur and Man U towards the latter part of the season, but we also put 5 goals past Burnley with no reply last season over the two legs.
Oh I see so if we made a couple of tactical changes we'd be beating Liverpool? It's ridiculous that people think a tactical change here or there and we'd suddenly do better against teams. Bielsa's tactics get the most out of the players and the most out of the team, it makes the team better than the sum of its parts. Changes to tactics is not going to make the team suddenly better.

I think if all the team play out of their skins we 'might' get a draw. Unfortunately some players just haven't done the business yet this season - oh how we needed a holding midfielder!
It will be interesting to see how James performs. Yes he has pace but there's no end-product. It's going to be a long, hard season, let's hope we don't emulate the blunts.

13M buys you an up and coming player British player or a replacement level overseas player .....

I'm not convinced about the scouse game either but time will tell whom is the proper coach,Bielsa wont change tactics, see how Klopp reponds, man utd seem to alter for us at OT and it works a treat.
Injuries dont help either, but we have a big enough squad to cope ....apparently.
